Obama: The Great Pretender

In the sphere of human events, sometimes it's tempting for folks to put the cart before the horse. Perhaps it's part of human nature to visualize negative, or positive end results before a process is completed. However, there are some individuals who tend to take imagination to the extreme by constantly jumping the gun. Sen. Obama is one glaring example of this arrogant trait of make believe, or pretending.

Unfortunately, much of the media fails to recognize his "Do as I say, Not as I do," lifestyle. Most media outlets just mindlessly lap up all the disconnects as they fawn over his words. On the other hand, most likely voters don't trust media biases.

Remember Obama's tawdry attempt to rip-off the presidential seal? He tried to make it look as if he was the president. He constantly strives to choreograph every photo-op to make it look as if he is the leader of this great republic. Although Obama has several economic and national security advisors, most of these "experts" have been out of the loop for quite some time.

Next, Obama pretends to care for those in poverty, yet he plans to expand government, which would make the poor even more dependent on the soul crushing bureaucracy of the nanny state. This misguided goal is the polar opposite of the empowering vision spelled out by Mahatma Gandhi, JFK, MLK, and Ronald W. Reagan.

Moreover, Obama pretends to care for the middle class and wealthy, yet he plans to raise the capital gains tax, corporate tax, and Social Security tax. Who would want to invest in a business, create employment, or spend money if there are tax hikes in a tough economy?

Third, Obama pretends to honor our armed forces, yet he hopes to create a gigantic "civilian security force" that could rival our military system. In other words, he could have his own national security force to impose his socialist agenda on all Americans. This unconstitutional power grab sounds very Wilsonian (Jonah Goldberg describes Wilson's parallel security force quite well in his book, "Liberal Fascism").

Fourth, Obama dreams of moving beyond race and religion toward some type of earthly Paradise, or Shangri-La. In an ideal world this might be feasible, but we do live in the real world. His adolescent fantasy runs counter to reality, as well as the grievance politics that has driven him for over twenty years. By the way, most Americans aren't obsessed about the "walls" between people as long as folks are law abiding.

Fifth, during his recent foreign tour, Obama announced that he was an American citizen, but also informed the Europeans at Germany's Victory Column that he was also a world citizen. Perhaps he is unaware that Americans want a leader who battles for American interests in the global arena.

We don't need someone who fights for European interests, or for the ideals of a morally bankrupt UN. Apparently, Obama was too busy trashing America and posing as a world citizen, so he didn't have time to visit wounded US troops in Germany.

Moreover, as a guest in seven countries, he should have been listening to the concerns and needs of each nation. However, he eagerly told national leaders what they should be doing in their own countries and in the world, as if they don't understand their own goals.

On Afghanistan and other states in the region, Obama offered the obvious standard fare, with no new ideas. He also displayed an arrogant historical revisionism by attaching his name to some of the successes in Iraq. He conveniently forgot that he vehemently opposed the surge, as well as the initial liberation of Iraq.

If it was up to Obama, Saddam's totalitarian regime would still be in power. Saddam would be terrorizing Iraqis and his neighbors, defying all UN resolutions, and subsidizing Palestinian homicide bombers. Yet Obama has the gall to prescrible solutions for the region. In his limitless narcissism, he seems incapable of admitting he has been so wrong in many areas of foreign policy.

Sixth, Obama claims that he wants energy independence for America, yet he plans to further regulate and tax energy exploration, development, and distribution. Consequently, that would reduce our supplies, raise prices, and increase our dependence on energy resources from hostile regimes. He is so immersed in government economic solutions that he fails to grasp the historical success of free market enterprise.

Seventh, Obama bashes greedy folks in the private sector and thinks that we ought to get the money out of politics. Yet he displayed his own hypocrisy when he rejected public campaign financing in favor of private financing. Indeed, all types of bundlers, and special interests support his campaign. Apparently, it's only naughty when conservatives utilize lobbyists and wealthy donors.

In addition, he never lashes out against the insatiable appetite of Congress. The Democratic Congress wastes much of our hard earned dollars on social engineering, as well as on stifling regulations that impede economic growth. Unfortunately, Obama doesn't realize that government can't solve most problems. Human beings are much better at finding productive solutions.

Obama is a great pretender because he claims that he cares about all Americans, yet he remains caught up in identity politics. To prepare for the general election, he pretends to be a centrist, and even hawkish at times. Yet anyone with half a brain knows that if he wins the November election, he would hustle back to the socialist worldview that has sustained him throughout his life. He would do everything in his power to force his condescending, obsolete vision down our throats.

Finally, Obama's campaign isn't about American greatness, or what is best for America, because his agenda would wipe out our individual liberties in an Orwellian PC society. When you cut through the bull, and scrub away the teflon, Obama only wants democracy and freedom for those who agree with him. He wants Americans to be ashamed of their success because of his own phony guilt about success. Obama's Campaign 2008 is all about Barack Obama, and his campaign illustrates the control that this pretender wishes to wield over every area of our lives.
