You know the Republican Party is in trouble politically when our incumbents lawmakers from Alaska have high unfavorable ratings and are attracting primary challenger(s).
The ethically embattled Senator Ted Stevens and Congressman Don Young are viewed unfavorably by at least 49% of the Alaskan electorate.
Congressman Young is also under investigation by the Justice Department over his dealings with Veco Corp., an oil company. Last Friday, Alaska's Lt. Governor Sean Parnell announced at state's GOP convention that he will mount a challenge against Young in the upcoming primary.
