NY Governor Eliot Spitzer to Resign over Involvement in Prostitution Ring

Governor Eliot Spitzer has had a rough weekend. Friday, a federal official contacted his office and let them know that the Governor had been implicated in a prostitution probe. He informed his top aides of it on Sunday night, and called for a hasty press conference you can see below. He is expected to hand in his resignation to the state Senate at 7PM EST.
The wiretap recording, made during an investigation of a prostitution ring called Emperors Club VIP, captured a man identified as Client 9 on a telephone call confirming plans to have a woman travel from New York to Washington, where he had reserved a room. The person briefed on the case identified Mr. Spitzer as Client 9.

So when can we be expecting a proposal to remove Louisiana Senator David Vitter from the US Senate or calls for his resignation from the Republicans? Did he also not admit to soliciting a prostitute from another "call girl" ring?
Oh thats right, it is only wrong if they have a D after their name. Since David Vitter is a good church going, anti-choice, anti-gay Catholic, it is ok as long as he goes to Confession, right? You right wing conservative christian types never cease to amaze me at your hypocrisy.

I have to believe that you are more intelligent than your comment makes you sound. That is quite a sweeping generalization you make, grouping me as a "right wing conservative christian type" when you don't know a thing about me.
Secondly, I never once absolved Senator's Vitter's actions. This is a story about a man who made his political life being a tough enforcer of the law. A man who, in 2004, spoke with revulsion and anger after announcing the arrest of 16 people for operating a high-end prostitution ring out of Staten Island. A man who had a standing account (he had a $400 credit when he made the call as Client 9) with Emperors Club VIP and called them the night before Valentine's Day despite having a wife and three daughters.
Now, if you would like to make any other ignorant, sweeping generalizations that make sound you intellectually akin to a third grader, please continue.

Ok think about this. Spitzer is in a weakened state because he committed a crime. With republicans calling for his head this has now become a partisan issue. The american people are tired of this crap. By leaving the man alone, Spitzer has less leverage to veto conservative legislation, and pass liberal legislation, thus he will be vulnerable when he is up for reelection. Rather than have an incumbant govenor apointed. Don't get in the way of a man tripping over himself.
It is unfortunate that 'Mr. Clean' has to resign after what has been a great run...my personal thought is that we all have our sins and vices...
On the other hand, he made a career out of busting prostitution rings himself...the hypocrisy is too much to ignore...

Resignation is Monday. Only sad thing for us is that it'll be over and no time to drag this out & prosper from it.
