Contrary to Popular Belief, White Men Are Still Running the Democratic Party

Democrats from all levels take pride in being in a political party of diversity and tolerance. That pride is certainly reinforced this year with their two leading presidential candidates being an African American and woman, but there is an ironic twist in all of this.
As we've all witnessed, Super Tuesday didn't really produce a clear front runner in the Democratic contest. However, in the last few weeks, Barack Obama has surpassed Hillary Clinton in their race to accumulate pledged delegates with the Senator from Illinois winning eight consecutive primaries/caucuses across the country.
With the Democratic rules dictating the rewarding of pledged delegate proportional to the candidates' performance in the voting booth, Hillary Clinton would have to win a lopsided victory in Ohio, Texas and Pennsylvania if she wants to regain her lead. Not a likely scenario since there are only a handful of states left and there is a possibility that neither Obama or Clinton will reach the magic number of 2,025 delegates before Denver. This means the race could be decided by what is known as "Superdelegates", a group comprised of party elders, governors, members of Congress, and DNC political operatives.
The irony here is that about half of the 700+ "Superdelegates" in the Democratic Party are white men. If men of various ethnic origins are included, that percentage would be increased to 64%, according to a report conducted by Politico.
Clearly this percentage is not reflective of the voting Democratic base who are more diverse not only in gender but also in ethnicity. So next time when a raging liberal rant about how the Democratic Party is the part of inclusiveness, tell them in reality, the white men are still running the show in the DNC.

"White Men"? do you mean European-Americans? And since the largest majority of people in America are still "white" this might actually make sense. Although I understand what you are getting at, the Democrats are hypocrites? right? LOL
Yes, yes.
That's why the Dems have so many delegates. They know they need to show diversity, but none of the white men wanted to give up their seats for minorities ... so, they crated more seats. Almost brilliant.
