If there is ever a fire-brand ultra conservative in the U.S. Senate, it is Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn. ARLINGTON, VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced that Senator Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-OK) has endorsed John McCain for President of the United States. Senator Coburn issued the following statement on his endorsement:
"I am honored to be here in South Carolina today, and I am very proud to endorse my friend and colleague Senator John McCain for President of the United States. John McCain and I have stood side-by-side on many issues and I'd like to speak to two of them today -- fiscal responsibility and ensuring the sanctity of human life.
"Much has been made in this presidential campaign about the need for change in Washington. Candidates from both sides of the aisle have talked about bringing real reform to the federal government. But, only one candidate has a record of putting his money where his mouth is, and that's John McCain.
"Since I came to Congress in 1995, I have met one true reformer -- John McCain. He has the unique blend of character, guts, and experience needed to transform Washington from the inside out. He is beholden to no special interest. He is guided by strong conservative principles, and committed to doing what he believes is right without concern for political consequence.
"John McCain has never been afraid to take the road less traveled, and he has fought wasteful spending at every turn along the way. He's saved taxpayers untold billions, and he has rightfully earned the reputation as the Senate's number one fiscal hawk. I trust that as president, John McCain will veto any pork-barrel bill that crosses his desk, and will make the authors famous.

What a dissappointment! Guess Mitt Romney is right. Every one of the Senate bosos have spent so much time in Washington; you can't trust any of them.
It's too bad Senator Colburn had to throw away his great reputation endorsing the worthless scum of John McCain. I used to like Mr. Colburn.
Worthless scum, so that's how we treat former war heros many times over. One has to wonder if you ever served in the military. If so you might like to visit my legion outpost and make that remark. Maybe you approve of the swiftboating of an honest to god war hero like Senator McCain but I and many in my military family find this to be repulsive and will now vote for anybody but Romney.Romney is a John Kerry clone without the military service and you have the gall to call McCain names. It figures it is the Romney campaign behind these smears they have waged maybe the dirtiest campaign I have seen and I expect a huge backlash against Romney in South Carolina, a state with a huge military presence.
Tough guy...I'd be happy with any conservative and Romney seems to fit the bill at this point. I'm grateful to anyone who has ever served our country, but that doesn't mean some of these veterans are owed public office, especially after worthless scummy behavior.
Are you aware that Mr. McCain cheated on his wife who waited for him and raised his kids while he was a POW? Conveniently he cheated on his wife and left her for a 25 year old with loads of family money to launch his political career.
He is a LIBERAL! I don't care how many battles he fought in(one); a liberal is not worthy to represent me. He has no respect for the consitution, and therefore my freedom.
