It is being reported that opposition presidential candidate Mir-Hossein Mousavi is planing to launch a political party in Iran. This news comes on the heals of a major split in the clerical establishment, with some clerics calling the recent election illegitimate.

These events represent a major setback for Iranian officials who are trying to paint opposition members as traitors and criminals. The split is sure to garner addtional support for the opposition movement and is an  unprecedented act of defiance against supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, whose word is considered  final.
