Meg Whitman's Quest For a Political Identity Hits Leftist Blogs
By Sgt. York | 04/06/09 | 12:57 PM EDT | 3 Comments
Now before you think this is a panacea for Meg Whitman, take a good, close look at this Blog (link: http://gayrights.change.org/blog/view/meg_whitmans_big_gay_problem) Post.
From the Far Left- they meet me in the middle. They basically echo what this blogger has written - whether it be the lack of a political corset, the quest for an identity - the left is starting to notice Meg Whitman's painfully carved out stances on issues as well. They Wrote:
"Just what the hell does former eBay CEO (and current GOP candidate for Governor in California) Meg Whitman think about same-sex marriage? It's hard to say, and as best we can tell, you might need to be a rocket scientist or a trigonometry expert to figure this one out.
Case in point:
Meg Whitman actively supported Proposition 8 and thinks that the word marriage is only reserved for a man and woman;
Meg Whitman thinks that civil unions are OK for gay and lesbian couples;
Meg Whitman thinks that gay and lesbian couples married before Proposition 8 passed should still be able to be married
Isn't that kind of like having your cake and eating it, too? David Hauslaib over at Queerty and Owen Thomas over at Gawker have great pieces up today about the hypocrisy of Meg Whitman. Or maybe hypocrisy isn't the right word. Maybe mind-blowing spinelessness is a better fit. Because as best we can tell, Whitman is trying to pander to so many different audiences with her answer about same-sex marriage, that she's bound to please no one - those in favor of same-sex marriage, and those in favor of marriage discrimination."
The far left calls it mind-blowing spinelessness. In the Bible, the scripture says, "but since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth." Revelation 3:16 NLT. These words were written to the church in Laodicea. That Church was trying a something-for-everyone gospel and Revelation 3:16 details what God thought of that. This is especially applicable because Whitman came out and said her support (since clarified) of Prop 8 was due to her faith.
Faith ultimately involves making tough decisions - not replacing the war room with a focus group. These aren't kids toys or a swap meet - a Republican Governor will be working with currently 25 Senators and 50 Assemblymembers that want you to fail. Like these hardcore leftist bloggers point out - the left sees no difference between a strong and a weak Republican. In fact, they seem to hate the weak ones more.
The blogger goes on to write: "So does Meg Whitman have any political integrity?" They write this in light of Meg giving Barbara Boxer $4,000, then Giving Orrin Hatch and George Allen money as well.
As demonstrated by the staged photos, rented horses, tortured stances on issues and an absolute lack of connection with the California Republican party - I can rightly pose the following questions:
1. Is this Arnold 2.0?
2. Does Meg Whitman have ANY political integrity?
3. Should Meg Whitman be running for Mayor of Atherton instead...
Regardless of your answers to the above, Meg Whitman is not ready for prime-time.

Aaron,
Wow, your post is thought provoking. The main thought: how often do you read the homosexual activist blogs?
My goodness. I think that if 50 Republican activists were stranded on a island the smart move would be to IMMEDIATELY assume every was going to go all Donner Party on each other and head for the hills.
Why do we care about Meg Whitman??
