Great news for local talk radio....
Popular Southern California radio personality Mark Larson returns to KCBQ 1170AM beginning Monday June 1st. His new morning talk show will air from 7-9AM.
"I'm honored to have the opportunity to rejoin KCBQ", notes Larson, who in 1999 (as the station's GM) launched KCBQ's current talk format. “This is like coming home," he adds. "It's important to be part of an organization which champions intelligent, Conservative Talk, especially in times such as these.” Salem/San Diego General Manager Dave Armstrong notes, “Mark Larson is Mr. Radio in San Diego and we are excited to have him back with us at KCBQ!
Larson's vast San Diego radio experience includes KOGO and KFMB in San Diego as well as KCBQ/KPRZ. His prior KCBQ morning talk show was also heard on KRLA, Los Angeles and simulcast on KTIE in the Inland Empire.
With the San Diego Radio Broadcasters Association, Mark served as President for a record eight consecutive terms. Radio & Records named him to its "All-Star Players" list in 2006 and 2007, citing him as one of only twelve "local legends" in American talk radio.
Mark is listed in Who's Who In America and Who's Who in the Media and Communications. A proud father of three grown children, he has been married to the lovely Mrs. Larson for 33 years.
