Whitewater, Travelgate, Hillary-care. Such phrases should send shudders down the spine of any self-respecting political enthusiast. But for a whole generation of Americans, Hillary Clinton's scandal-ridden time as First Lady is virtually unknown.
Citizens United, a Washington, DC-based conservative grassroots group, is intent on changing that. Led by David Bossie, former chief investigator for the House government oversight committee, Citizens United is co-producing a feature-length documentary with the Lincoln Club of Orange County that will expose to today's voters, in all her disgraceful glory, the real Hillary.
Exposing a polarizing figure like Hillary Clinton in the midst of a contentious presidential campaign will be a daunting task. Explains Bossie, "Educating the American people about Hillary Clinton is a natural fit for Citizens United as we believe it is imperative to stop Clinton in her tracks."
Well known Hillary critic, Dick Morris, is also involved in the film. One of many insiders to be interviewed for the film, Morris will provide context to the movie's central themes and will elaborate on the storyline from an insiders perspective. According to Bossie, "Dick Morris will provide the audience with the unvarnished truth about Hillary Clinton and instill a sense of urgency that only someone who knows Clinton best can do."
Political enthusiasts will recall Dick Morris was with Hillary from the Governor's mansion in Arkansas in the early 1980s to her years as First Lady in the White House. It is unlikely that anyone has a better understanding about the real character and personality of Hillary Clinton than Dick Morris.
This is not the first time Citizens United Productions has waded into deep political waters. The organization has produced six feature-length documentaries on timeless yet pressing public policy issues ranging from immigration, the United Nations, and the ACLU. Most recently, the organization won wide acclaim for Border War, the Battle over Illegal Immigration, a documentary about one of this year's most explosive political issues.
Citizens United plans to release the Hillary film in movie theaters throughout key battleground states. The Lincoln Club's involvement in the project is unprecedented. Never before has such an influential Orange County political group, known more for launching political leaders, invested in a project that could significantly shape the outcome of a presidential election.
Watch for the Lincoln Club's exclusive Orange County premiere of the film in the coming months.
