Voters head to polls to select future 32nd Rep. Vote for Republican Betty Chu. I did.

Some pushing for Van Nuys to secede. They get no respect and want to be free. Of course, San Fernando Valley voters rejected freedom in the past and will continue to do so.

New plan would alter balance of power in LAUSD. This would shift power to communities. Not a bad idea, but who hold them accountable? The LAUSD board that couldn’t do the job in the first place? Just break this district up!

Villaraigosa slams fundraising efforts for Jackson memorial service. Why have fans or family pay when taxpayers can.

Trutanich criticizes city planners for approving billboard plan. The agency ignored his request to hold off approving new signs at the Convention Center. The city attorney will have a rough go of it. This will make him more popular.

Teacher loses fight to keep job. Judge gives L.A. Unified permission to terminate Matthew Kim, who has done no work for seven years. Here is the poster boy for too many teacher protections.

Councilman urges bonds for green projects including L.A. River and CleanTech zone.

Great news. L.A. needs more debt.

Garcia to seek committee review of domestic partner ordinance. Just another way to justify forcing his personal agenda on the city and the taxpayers.
