Measure R sales tax hike goes into effect today. The transportation initiative passed by voters in November pushes L.A. County's rate up to 9.75%, one of the highest in California. But what, the tax won't bring in what they thought. Never heard that before.
Los Angeles loves taxes, most of the time. La Canada passes a school parcel tax while Rowland unified rejects theirs.
LAUSD to decide Birmingham High School status. Only freedom from LAUSD will save this school. Also, LAUSD to discipline Birmingham High School administrators over "Bruno" photo shoot. You think.
Missing LBUSD board member Michael Ellis is promising to appear at the July 7th meeting. Was he that good a board member, they really needed him?
La Verne councilman found not guilty. He had voted on a project near some property. Dodges a bullet on this one.
