Pension repayment plan could throw L.A.'s budget into disarray. The system's general manager urges 'prudent' repayment in 5 years, not 15. The money would come from employees or the city's general fund.. So some retire early with big bucks and the saps left behind pay. Great move by the city.
Residents frustrated over lack of representation in Council District 2. Representation isn’t that great either.
Gay, lesbian priests among bishop nominees by L.A. Episcopal diocese. A month after leaders of the national church voted to allow consecration of gay clergy, one of its most liberal dioceses names two homosexual priests among the six candidates for suffragan bishop. Good thing the Anglican Communion sent missionaries to Africa to keep the church alive.
La Puente Mayor's campaign finance probe widens Lots of witnesses and donors to an event never recorded in campaign documents. Not good news for an Assembly hopeful.
Long Beach seeks medical marijuana rules. No regulations are currently in place. Not even a ban on placing these near schools or fas food joints.
Former Pico Rivera mayor chooses family over civic duty. More on the sudden resignation of the Mayor. I do like the reference to expanding the family business….a non-profit foundation.
