Local Democrats not happy with paper's city council endorsements

Ventura County Democrats aren’t too happy with the Ventura County Star’s endorsement of Republicans in the race for Ventura City Council.
“We desperately need you to participate by making phone calls to keep the Republicans and Star newspaper publishers from thwarting the will of the people,” the party wrote in an e-mail to supporters.
God forbid a media outlet endorses a Republican. Is it not enough that CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, Time, Newsweek, almost all newspapers, and Hollywood are constantly bashing Republicans—the Democrats want the Star to join in as well?
I forgot—liberal media bias is something we conservatives hallucinated. Or is it?
A 2005 UCLA study said just that—that virtually all media outlets lean to the left. “[T]here is a quantifiable and significant bias in that nearly all of them lean to the left," said Jeffrey Milyo, a University of Missouri economist who co-authored the study. MediaMatters wasn’t thrilled.
In 1981 Robert and Linda Lichter surveyed 240 leading journalists and discovered that 81 percent of them voted Democratic in all the presidential elections between 1964 and 1976. A follow-up study in 2001 determined that 91 percent of them voted for Bill Clinton in 1992.
In 1995, a U.S. News and World Report journalist surveyed his colleagues in the Washington press corps and found that they had voted for a Democrat for president on 50 occasions between 1976 and 1992 and for a Republican only 9 times.
According to a 1985 Los Angeles Times survey that polled 2,700 journalists at 621 newspapers, journalists had a negative view of Ronald Reagan by a 2-to-1 margin, an opinion not shared by the rest of the country.
In 1996, Chicago Tribune writer Elaine Povich published a report that stated four years earlier, journalists were nine times more likely to vote for Bill Clinton than for George Bush.
And on and on. I’m not going to even go into how the media played footsie with Barack Obama. That should be self-evident by now.
If I were these Democrats complaining about a few Republican endorsements, I might not be so vocal about problems with media bias.

I will be calling in, but we need more people for this to work, and keep running.
