Litigation costs are hammering California's already beleagured cities and counties, according to a new report just released by CA Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse. In Kern, the two year expense for all types of litigation was $2.4 million dollars - taxpayer money that could have been much better spent. While there are instances of true injustice when dealing with local governments, CALA is concerned that much of the litigation is borne out of greed and the perception that "government" is a convenient deep pocket to pick!
