The latest federal reports show Barack Obama has blown through the six hundred million dollar raised mark in his presidential campaign and is on pace to exceed three quarters of a BILLION dollars by Election Day. That's more than Bush and Kerry combined just four years ago.

So here's the question. Why isn't such unprecedented fundraising getting unprecedented scrutiny by our "watchdog" media? Why aren't they outraged that he won't release the names of his under $200 donors that aggregate over 200 million dollars? Why aren't we seeing editorial hand wringing over his "buying the election" after breaking his word to the American people to accept only public financing? Where's the teams of investigative reporters poring over his reports to ensure all that money came from legal sources?

Any question in your mind that McCain would be put through the wringer if it was him in that position?

The saddest part is that no one is surprised by this collective dereliction of duty on the part of the old media. They're in Obama's back pocket and everyone knows it. That's why the LA Times refuses to release footage of Obama praising an anti-Israel PLO apologist five years ago. They sure didn't have any scruples about releasing confidential and embarrassing Schwarzenegger tapes two years ago. Now those high minded journalistic scruples are really bothering them.
