The Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation announced the 13th Annual "Eddy Awards" to be held on Monday, November 17, 2008 at the Beverly Hilton.
LAEDC Selects Ten City Finalists for Most Business-Friendly City Competition
According to LAEDC, the Eddy Awards came to fruition in 1996 to celebrate individuals and organizations that demonstrate exceptional contributions to positive economic development in the region. The Eddy Awards recognize individuals, companies and in 2006 began honoring cities as well for leadership in economic development.
The cities of Cerritos, Glendale, Long Beach, Pasadena and Santa Clarita are finalists with population of 50,000 plus category.
The cities of Culver City, La Mirada, Monrovia, Santa Fe Springs and Vernon are finalists with population of 50,000 and under category.
Also, The Walt Disney Company and Rick Caruso Developer of the Grove and The Americana will be recognized for their outstanding private sector leadership in economic development.
Congratulations to all of the cities and private sector companies in the achievements they have made for themselves in obtaining the "2008 Eddy Awards".
They deserve a round of applause for their hard work by making their communities a better place to create jobs and economic development to ensure prosperity for all of our citizens.
