Fmr. Sen. Escutia: Proposed Fine for Economic Interest Violation

The FPPC (Fair Political Practices Commission) is proposing a $2,000 fine to Former Senator Martha Escutia (D-Montebello) due to violations of improper disclosure of "Economic Interest Reporting".
The FPPC is scheduled to take up the matter on their regularly scheduled meeting on August 14, 2008.
Statement of Economic Interest Reporting Violation
8. In the Matter of Martha M. Escutia, FPPC No. 04/407. Staff:
Commission Counsel Bridgette Longero. Respondent Martha Escutia, while
a member of the State Senate, failed to disclose sources of income of
$20,000 or more to her spouse's solely-owned business entity on her
initially-filed 2002 and 2003 annual statements of economic interests,
in violation of Government Code Sections 87203 and 87207 (2 counts).
Total Proposed Penalty: $2,000.
