Paying $45 per Vote - Los Angeles County

The San Gabriel Valley Tribune gave an interesting editorial on the cost of putting together an election in Los Angeles County.
On Tuesday's Primary Election dismal voter turnout cost the Los Angeles County taxpayers $30 Million or $45 per vote to conduct an election where only 663,000 votes were casted.
We know that democracy has it's price and we paid for it dearly on Tuesday.
Question to Acting Registrar-Recorder Dean Logan: How and Why did it cost so high at the tune of $30 Million? Will the Board of Supervisors ask Mr. Logan that question remains to be seen!
