After much reading from various posts about the concern of GOP registration throughout the state of California and various counties, Los Angeles County still boasts over One Million Registered Republicans (1,017,633 to be exact).
No other county in California has earned the of the status of One Million plus club, yet. Though, it is nice to brag that Los Angeles is home to One Million plus registered Republicans.
However, one must be concerned in the rise of the "Decline to State" category has grown very fast from 706,049 in October 18, 2004 report to 806,609 according to the recent report of registration dated May 19, 2008. That is a whopping jump of over 14%. Whereas, the GOP registration has drop of 53,982 in the same time period of less than four years.
What is even more alarming, if one wants to go way back to 1999 the "Decline to State" in Los Angeles County was just at 484,835, which is an alarming 66% jump

Therefore, the "Decline to State" is not just that far off from the One Million plus club and the GOP should be concern, especially in Los Angeles County.
It is imperative that the GOP to chase the "Decline to State" voters by encouraging them that they are welcome to the Republican Party. If we fail to get these voters, then the GOP can be overtaken by the "Decline to State".
Not to sound an alarmist, but the GOP needs to understand what is in front of us. The opportunity is there for us to reach new voters, decline to state and even Democrats to embrace them by reminding them that the Republican party is a big tent party with wide variety of views.
