Ledford Wins Palmdale. Knight Wins 36th Assembly District

Palmdale still loves Jim Ledford. That was the one city Ledford won. Of course he has served as Mayor 16 years compared to Steve Knight's short time on the Palmdale City Council.
Now the rest of the 36th is a different story the farther from Paldale the better Knight did.
Ledford blamed the California Republican Assembly.
"Ledford said negative campaign advertising was the difference outside of Palmdale. The Huntington Beach-based California Republican Assembly spent nearly $60,000 supporting Knight and opposing Ledford, sending mailers that called Ledford a liberal.
"The mailers affected opinion outside of my home community," Ledford said. "I guess negative works. ... People in Palmdale know where I'm from. People in Lancaster, maybe a little less."

Is Steve Knight related to Pete Knight?
Yes, he's Pete's son.
Is Pete Knight still around? I remember attending an event in Lancaster as his guest about 10 years ago. What a character! Is his son as "interesting" as Pete was?
I also remember Ledford and recall he was not such a warm guy.
