Huff, Mountjoy Tie!

I know everyone thinks that Huff won pretty handily in the June GOP Primary for the 29th State Senate District.
Not true.
While reviewing the community-by-community breakdown of unofficial voting results, it turns out they tied in the city of Covina.
One vote for Dennis Mountjoy. One vote cast for Bob Huff.
I don't know if the mailers made a difference or if it was name identification that tied things up. This I know. It is an example of why there needs to be Redistricting Reform. Why can't this little part of the city of Covina be with the rest of Covina? The 29th District isn't the worst district drawn, but there are a few hundred voters in Pasadena there. A little Hacienda Height here. A smidgen here and there. It has parts of several communities as it treks down to Orange.
This tie should never have happened and redistricting reform that tries to keep communities intact needs to be a priority.
