Assemblyman Eng named Assembly Transportation Cmte. Chairman
By Allen Wilson | 06/05/08 | 05:57 PM EDT | 0 Comments
The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports that Assemblyman Mike Eng (D-Monterey Park) was appointed as Chairman of the Assembly Transportation Committee by Assembly Speaker Karen Bass.
Assemblyman Eng will take over the panel from Assemblyman Mark DeSauliner (D-Martinez) who is heading to the State Senate.
In light of this change, it could mean that critical transportation infrastructure needs from the San Gabriel Valley and throughout Los Angeles County will be addressed with urgency due to the fact that a lawmaker from Southern California will head the Transportation panel.
Furthermore, what will this mean for the "HOV/Carpool Toll lane" proposal by the MTA? What about the extension of the 710 Freeway, which sits in Assemblyman Eng's District? Will the traffic woes of the 405/101, 10, 60, 210 and other freeways be solved?
So many questions that deserves answers by the new Assembly Transportation Committee Chairman Eng.
