Los Angeles County Lincoln Clubs Endorses...

Posted by: Doug Boyd | 05/09/2008 3:21 PM

Our Board of Governors met yesterday and added some endorsments to those previously announced for the June 3rd primary election.

The Lincoln Clubs urge you to vote for County Supervisor (and LC Member) Don Knabe in District 4, Supervisor (and LC Member) Mike Antonovich in District 5, and District Attorney Steve Cooley.

In the 36th Assembly District, Steve Knight received a unanimous endorsement. We earlier endorsed Tom Vidal in AD 53 and Gabriella Holt in District 54.> > >

For Superor Court Judge, we endorse Michael O'Gara in Office 94, Lance Winters in Office 95, Kathleen Blanchard in Office 123 and Michael Jesic in Office 154.

Our members also think there is a clear difference between the two leading Democrat candidates for County Supervisor in District Two. There are no Republican candidates, which probably has something to do with the 17% Republican registration in the district.

One candidate, former LA Police Chief Bernard Parks, is tough on law enforcement issues, business friendly (endorsed by the LA Chamber of Commerce) and willing to meet and work with Republicans.

The other candidate Senator Mark Ridley-Thomas, is a sock puppet for the AFL-CIO (which calls him their top prority in LA County in 2008). Now, it takes hard work to earn a zero rating from the California Chamber of Commerce in Sacramento. They tend to throw Democrat legislators a few "gimmes" so they don't have such abysmal ratings every year. But there are a few dedicated socialists who take the time to find out what business wants so they can vote against them each and every time. Ridley-Thomas is a proud member of that destructive fraternity, along with his colleagues in Berkeley and San Francisco. He detests Republicans and conservatives.

Enough clues?

The Lincoln Clubs had offered to pay volunteers to travel to the Senator Jeff Denham district in Salinas-Modesto to fight the recall. LA Republican County Chairman Linda Boyd had lined up some takers. Other Republican county leaders from all over California were sending people too.

Bottom line is that Denham had a well organized and funded campaign run by our side's best strategists, JohnsonClark Associates. Perata's people had their bluff called and they folded. Denham's folks are still watching to make sure the media buys aren't made, as well as arrangements for large amounts of workers to inundate the district. But it looks good as of today.

Now I can go back to cheering for Hillary.

Wasn't the Denham recall canceled?
