Education Lawyer chosen on Pomona USD Board of Education

It makes one wonder what was the Pomona Board of Education thinking to fill the vacancy of Nancy McCracken.
Adrienne Konigar-Macklin was chosen out of a field of 20 applicants and ironically she was general counsel for the district from 1990 to 1997 and currently counsel for Inglewood Unified School District.
It leaves an impression to the community that the Board of Education chosen someone that knows her away around the corridors at the district headquarters on Garey Avenue and desires to protect the interests of the system at the expense of the students.
The last thing we need is a "Education Lawyer" sitting on the dias. You can't fool the community that out of the 20 applicants, not ANYONE else was better qualifed than Ms. Konigar-Macklin.
The community should thank and applaud Andrew Wong for casting the lone "No" Vote on filling the vacancy, which takes guts.
The parents should raise a stink on this one, because the students of Pomona and North Diamond Bar deserves better.
