Candidates for the 54th AD

The California 54th Assembly District is the best opportunity in Los Angeles County the Republican Party has to pick off a seat currently held by the Democrats. We need a candidate who will be able to close a gap of between 3,500 votes to 5,000 votes. The 3,500 vote figure is the amount Tom McClintock lost this district by in his run for Lieutenant Governor in 2006. This district stretches from the Palos Verde Peninsula to Long Beach and includes Catalina Island, Signal Hill & the Los Angeles neighborhoods of San Pedro and parts of Harbor City & Wilmington.
There are two Republican candidates who have declared for the 54th Assembly District, in alphabetical order they are...
Former Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District Board Member Gabriela Holt, who is also a registered nurse and an appointee of Don Knabe on the Los Angeles County Probation Commission. Currently she is the station manager for RPV TV Channel 33, at times appearing as an on air personality engaging in interviews of residents and public officials.

Long Beach resident and court advocate Michael A. Jackson, who is also a Raytheon engineer. As a court advocate he has put out a voter guide on the Los Angeles County judicial races for the past three years, that I am aware of and has led an effort to throw a sitting judge out of office after the judge delivered a controversial ruling, involving the issue of public safety (black on white violence on a Halloween night in Long Beach).

My fellow Republicans, I urge you to support the candidate who you believe to be most able to take this seat from the Democrats.
Sincerely,
