This year the 40th Assembly District is an open seat just like the 54th AD.  Just like the 54th AD, we have two Republicans running for the nomination.

The ethnicity is 42% white, 39% latino, 5% black, 12% asian. Voter registration numbers as of September 24th 2007 are as follows 79,486 registered Democrats, 46,781 registered Republicans, and 32,714 registered as Decline to State out of 166,342 total registered voters.

The district contains the Los Angeles city neighborhoods of Canoga Park, Granada Hills, Northridge, Reseda, Van Nuys, West Hills, Winnetka, and Woodland Hills

The vote differential is between 8,000 and 10,000 that we need to make up based on the figures Tom McClintock got in 2006.

The contact info of these two candidates is as follows:

ARMINEH CHELEBIAN (pictured above with Chuck Poochigian)

Armineh Chelebian ran for that Assembly seat two years ago, is on the Executive Board of the Republican Party of Los Angeles County, is a member of the 40th Assembly District Central Committee, is on the Winnetka Neighborhood Council and has been active in Republican politics for many years.

What are Ken Sherman's credentials? Who is he and what qualifies him to run for this seat?

sean Fudge said:

Ken's the only person in this whole campaign willing to tackle The subject of Illegal Immigration. The other canadites can't even say those two words in the same sentence. We all know most of our budget shortfalls stem from massive unchecked Illegal Immigration and out control Democrat spending.

Another topic Ken will Handle is the over development of the Valley which Bob Blumenfeld seems so intent on fostering.

Ken Sherman for Assembly 40th district.

Gary Aminoff said:

Mr. Fudge is "fudging." It isn't true that Sherman is the only candidate willing to tackle the subject of illegal immigration. Armineh Chelebian's web site has the following under Issues:

"Immigration- Protect and secure our borders

Armineh and her family immigrated to USA by “standing in line” back in 1978.

She therefore believes in “standing in line”, securing our borders and enforcing the laws."

Armineh speak frequently about the costs of illegal immigration, so where Mr. Fudge came up with this statement, I don't know. Since Mr. Fudge represents Ken Sherman as his campaign manager it seems he ought to be answering the charges of anti-semitism that are being made about Mr. Sherman. I refer specifically to a blog post:
http://kendersmusings.blogspot.com/2008/05/ken-sherman-bad-republican-or-democrat.html

Armineh Chelebian is the right candidate for the Assembly seat. She has all the qualifications that we look for in a candidate. I recommend reviewing her website: www.arminehchelebian.com

If Mr. Fudge is Ken's campaign manager wouldn't it have been ethical of him to have disclosed this information when he commented?

Sean Fudge said:

Wow! Guys make fun my name that's good you really got a grip on our party. This the stuff that's going to replenish our ranks, good job, you guys are big winners. Whatever happened to a good clean fight. I expected more from you Gary you warned me about Dirty Democrats at Jerry's Deli but I never thought it would be you.

Well Gotta go meet some more voters.

Kender said:

Hey Sean, don't you think it's an ethical lapse to not disclose that you are Mr. Shermans campaign manager? It would seem to me that commenting as a supporter of your candidate while lying about your candidates opponent is something that a campaign manager would strive to avoid, and yet here you are, acting on behalf of your candidate while lying about your candidates employee.

It is "conservatives" such as yourself and Mr. Sherman that this party can well do without. If you are going to sully our parties good name we don't need you around, don't want you around and I for one think you should go join the ranks of the democrats you emulate.

Now aside from owing Mr Aminoff an apology for the way you have spoken to him, perhaps an apology to Mrs. Chelebian for lying about her platform would be in order. While you are asking forgiveness for your slights, perhaps a general apology to all of the conservatives in this district would be in order for your unethical actions in failing to disclose your position.

Kender said:

in last comment..."candidates employee" should read "candidates opponent."

Sorry for the typo

sean Fudge said:

Well Kender . Just so were clear I 'm Proud to be Ken Sherman's campaign manager.
If you are as informed as you claim about Ken or myself you would know that already. However by the verbage you use it is clear to me your just one of Gary's buddys wasting my time and 4 other people who read this Blog.
Is Kender your real name? Do you live in the 40 th District? Have you met Ken or MRS.Chelebian.

Who are you Kender?

If you want answers to your questions ask them don't just attack because it shows your true colors.

Kender said:

Sean, I do live in the 40th district, smack dab in the middle of it, which is why I care about this race. I sat down with Armineh yesterday and...well I am sure you have read the interview post. I sent you my number, and have asked if Ken would be so kind as to answer some questions. You have not gotten back to me. Ken has had anti semitic videos posted on his site. He has promoted events sponsored by move on dot org, which is, as you know, a far left group that desires nothing more than our military defeat on the field of battle.

He has taken his socialist beggings to D.C., asking for even more tax money to be given to students, proving that he os not a conservative. Your candidate is unemployed, living with his parents and has no credentials to be running for dog catcher, much less State Assembly.

You won't return requests to speak with Ken, you act unethically on this very board by not disclosing your position within the campaign while making favorable comments about your candidate AND lying about your opponents decision, and if this is the kind of campaign you guys are running now, I shudder to think of the depths of corruption and negligence you would fall into were you to actually make it to Sacramento. However I really don't believe we have to worry about that scenario. I believe Ken is a plant from the DNC and if he wins next Tuesday will drop out so a democrat can run unopposed.

If I am wrong feel free to call me and set me straight. Show me how Ken is a conservative. Change my mind. I lean heavily right, but I also call them as I see them. I am not connected to any campaign in any way, shape or form beyond what I decide to write on my blog. Pity for you guys that I have great connections that help keep me informed. Balls in your court bucko.

Hello, fellow Republicans.

Aside from all the negative stuff you may have seen in blogger land I would like you come out strong for all our candidates. I would like ever everyone to know that the 40 th is a winnable district.
I have met to many people fed up with the Brad Sherman's, Howard Berman's and lloyd Levine's. They looking to us for leadership.

Thank You Sean Fudge

Mr. Fudge, I wrote a comment on Mr. Sherman's Myspace blog yesterday with some serious questions for him to answer. Today, I went back to his blog to see if he answered the questions I posed, and his Myspace account has been cancelled overnight. This raises so many suspicions and white flags. As his campaign manager, please explain why he no longer has a Myspace page.

Gary Aminoff said:

Mr. Devandry,

Ken Sherman lost his race to Armineh Chelebian in the primary election last June and is no longer running for office. The Republican candidate for the 40th Assembly District for the November election is Armineh Chelebian. Her email address is chelebian@aol.com and her web site is: http://www.arminehchelebian.com. Her phone number is: (818)772-8173.

Let me know if there is anything I can help with.
