L.A. Lincoln Club's Tea Party With Senator Vitter

The Los Angeles County Lincoln Clubs played host to GOP Senator David Vitter of Louisiana today at the venerable downtown California Club. The exclusive Members only complimentary luncheon event featured lots of hot or iced tea, their famous Honore Seafood Salad and a varied menu of spicy political topics including taxes, illegal immigration, foreign policy, candid discussion of California's U.S. Senators (very interesting) and what the next election holds for Republicans (good news).
Senator Vitter is a very bright (Harvard) engaging conservative in his first term who is quickly emerging as a leader among Senate Republicans. Louisiana is something of an anomaly among the states. Last year saw Louisiana Republicans picking up congressional seats, adding Republican Governor Bobby Jindal, and trouncing Barack Obama in the presidential vote. I had dreams like that....
After a long discussion of the woes affecting America today, someone asked what the most hopeful thing was in America on this Tax Day 2009. Senator Vitter replied that the hundreds of tea parties being held all across America today were a very hopeful sign for our future. He advised us to tune in to Fox News, not the biased alphabet networks, for in depth reporting on the tea parties and the anti tax increases movement building across America. Good advice.
Senator Vitter is up for re-election next year, and the Democrats have put him on their target list. No surprise there, Vitter is the first Republican to be elected to the U.S. Senate from Louisiana in history. The Lincoln Clubs and many others here in California need to help if he is to keep fighting for all of us in the Senate. The unanimous sentiment among Lincoln Clubbers today was to adopt David Vitter as our unofficial Senator as we certainly aren't represented by those who occupy California Senate seats today. He graciously agreed to be adopted, and we asked him to consider himself at home in Los Angeles County and to come home often.
The Los Angeles County Lincoln Clubs are the largest and most effective Republican donor organization in Los Angeles County. The County is America's largest with 10.3 million people, more than the population of 42 states (including Louisiana). The Lincoln Clubs 300 members are in eight chapters around the county. Sorry, but I do not think that the Lincoln Clubs should be encouraging support for a man who is not only out of California but was also caught with a prostitute while he was a married Senator. The man who was all moral outrage over Prop. 8 is now encouraging money to go out of our state to a Senator with no moral decency himself. Classic!
Vitter may vote the right way, but he is no example for Republicans. Vitter obviously has no regard for women, who make up half of our party, and by associating with this man Doug Boyd and the Lincoln Club show that they feel the same way. The Lincoln Club has certainly fallen far from what it used to be!

|I'd rather have him cavorting with hookers on his own money than wasting mine and yours on big government foolishness in Washington.
