Socialism comes to a college or university near you…
By Ken Campbell | 10/09/09
Sierra College may be a small junior college in a corner of Placer County; however, this week they had a demonstration of something that is all too common in our nation’s public colleges and universities… they celebrated “Social Justice Days” (link here). Professor Matt Archer along with a number of other professors and students did their “part in raising awareness about homelessness in the Sacramento area”... read more »

By Ken Campbell | 10/08/09
Congressman Dan Lungren did it (link here). Congressman Wally Herger did it (link here and look at the great pictures). Congressman Tom McClintock did it (link here). Now it is Doris Matsui's turn. Doris Matsui has avoided it up until now, but on Saturday, October 10th, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Matsui will have a Town Hall Meeting. Matsui's invitation is pasted below or link here for more information. As I have bloged on... read more »

Who is the enemy??
By Ken Campbell | 09/28/09
Sometimes I am amazed reading this blog as I am left wondering who is the opposition? Is the enemy Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Obama, Barney Frank and the rest of the big government tax and spenders trying to take our freedom away, or is the enemy Meg Whitman and Doug LaMalfa. Meg Whitman has no legislative record, but both Assemblyman Doug LaMalfa and Assemblyman Rick Keene have an extensive legislative record. That being the... read more »

All the Corruption Your Tax $ Can Buy
By Ken Campbell | 09/18/09
Pasted below is an article from the latest issue (Fall 2009) of “Tax Talk Bulletin” from the League of Placer County Taxpayers. Dan Sokol, vice president of the League, brings up a great point in regard to the on-going “corruption” in Placer County government. This should be investigated… but don’t hold your breath. As back ground, the League has been relentless in exposing the abuse of power in... read more »

Placer's Tea Party Patriots
By Ken Campbell | 09/09/09
This story is from the Lincoln News Messenger (link here or pasted below). It is amazing to see the frustration/ anger/ fear of what is going on in Washington. Most of these people, in the past, have been a-political--- concerned with their work, their family, their church, etc. The "Lincoln Tea Party Patriots" first organized for the April 15 national tea parties. The wanted to have a tea party in Lincoln and indeed... read more »

Showdown at Granite Bay, Congressman McClintock's Town Hall
By Ken Campbell | 09/03/09
Tuesday night’s Town Hall Meeting with Congressman Tom McClintock was an excellent example of democracy in action. Over 1,500 people packed the Granite Bay High School Gym to exchange ideas with Congressman McClintock. MoveOn.Org and Organize for America (Barack Obama’s campaign organization) were well organized and came out in force; however, they were overwhelmed by the ordinary citizens of the district who came out to... read more »

The Federal Government's growing tentacles and debt
By Ken Campbell | 08/25/09
There are two things that the Federal government does very well; run up massive debt and digging their tentacles deep into state and local government. Nothing illustrates this better than Obama's stimulus package enacted earlier this year that included a provision wherein state and local government entities can issue taxable securities this year and next and receive a 35% interest expense rebate from the Federal government for the life of... read more »

Let’s review the history behind this decision. The Placer County Supervisors contracted with Supervisor Kirk Uhler's company, Solar Power Inc., to install a system for the adjacent... read more »

"Waste money? Not on my watch."
By Ken Campbell | 08/10/09
An interesting column, "Waste money? Not on my watch", authored by Placer County Supervisor Jennifer Montgomery appeared in Friday's Auburn Journal (click here to view column). If I knew nothing of Montgomery (which admittedly I know very little), after reading this column I would come to the conclusion she is the conservative on the Board of Supervisors, and she is fighting to restrain the big spenders. She talks about... read more »
