By Jeff Solsby | 07/16/08
Coupla mixed news items from today:Rep. OC/DC: Reflections on Reflections
By Jeff Solsby | 06/17/08
Some random comments about the media, Russert et all:California's first lady was exceptional commemorating Tim Russert on Sunday morning--even more so because it was refreshing to hear a (in her case former) journalist talk publicly, on air, about faith. The sky didn't fall, and the media was (and is) better for it. Patriotism was and is alive among key media voices. The touching moment for me, was when Tom Brokaw commemorated... read more »

OC/DC: Impeachment, Nicholas Esquire, One and Same?
By Jeff Solsby | 06/06/08
I can't confirm this beyond the name similarity, so it could be a co-ink-ee-dink. If someone was actually in court yesterday, confirm or deny this and let me know. Thus far, it appears the defense attorney for Broadcom billionaire Henry Nicholas III is none other than Gregory Craig, a well respected Washington, D.C. attorney with Williams & Connolly. Craig was on the team defending former President Clinton during the impeachment... read more »

You seen the wooden shack under the PCH bridge? That's the place. Hidden in the parking lot of a marine / rv storage facility near a kayak rental spot, this seafood shop is a throwback. Not only do the Pearsons own the place, but they... read more »

OC/DC: Too Early Choose?
By Jeff Solsby | 05/16/08
While the Democratic presidential candidates continue to bludgeon each other in the proverbial race to the left, Republican attention is now shifting to the number two slot: vice president. Although Sen. McCain may be keeping a tight lid on his search process, that doesn't mean the rest of us can't play the tables! One name consistently atop the list of contenders is Florida Governor Charlie Crist. A Southerner, he is overwhelmingly... read more »
