Join a Constitution Revolt Near You
By JL "Buzz" Aguirre | 05/27/09 | 07:41 PM EDT | 6 Comments
The US Constitution has been under attack for some time now. The Federal Government continues to intrude in States’ Rights. The First and Second Amendment are under siege.
With the nomination of Judge Sotomayor, the President and the party in power have now launched an unadulterated frontal attack on the US Constitution. Empathy One, The US Constitution: Zilch
And the GOP is not helping, if anything, it is hurting the cause - the GOP once again is relying on Rush Limbaugh to do the work for them.
The GOP ‘s calculus that going after Judge Sotomayor's record alienates Hispanics is simply capitulation – again. The GOP should not develop a strategy on the fly to court any voting block, unless they want the same results.
The excuse that the GOP should choose its battles because this one is lost is more of the same.
Critics said something similar about the grassroots Tax Revolts – remember the CNN coverage of the Tea Bag Parties? Guess what happened right after that? California voters overwhelmingly said NO to tax increases and spending like it is 2010. Even President Barrack Obama uring his 100th-day town hall meeting in St. Louis said he did not think highly of the organic tea bag revolts and instead blamed the Fox News Channel for stirring the tea pot. While White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters: “I don't know if there's a specific response to protests….”
While the President and the Democrats want a speedy confirmation of Judge Sotomayor, at the same time they want us to judge Sotomayor on the body of her work. Remember the Federal Spending Bill no one read? How about the Louisiana Bill? - In other words, youi want speed or you want to protect the US Constitution?
Since not many Republicans are willing to step up to the plate and defend the Constitution, you can become armed and dangerous – Join a Constitution Revolt (C-Bag Revolt), carry a pocket book of the Constitution and demand your representatives, Democrats or Republicans, for deliberate and thorough review of Judge Sotomayor’s body of work.
So, you may want to the Project Vote Smart website to find out who your representatives are, send them a facimimile of the cover page of the US Constitution, in case they have forgotten what it looks like, then demand action on the nomination of Judge Sotomayor.
Honorable:
I am a proud carrier of a pocketbook version of the Constitution. Since the current administration does not seem interested in defending Her, I urge you that you do all you can to make sure that Judge Sotomayor’s body of work is thoroughly and reviewed prior to confirmation.

Time is not of the essence, and while empathy is an excellent attribute, it should not trump the Constitution.

|In my view, whether or not Limbaugh is the instrumentality of the GOP is irrelevant because Mr. Obama has as his own pawns, ACORN, ACLU, Planned Parenthood and a host of others working the media and voters so he can apparently give the appearance that there is distance between him, his office, and these radicals (though its not believable). I think the GOP is right to let Limbaugh raise the issues, even debate the issues, BUT, the GOP must start to address these "same" issues just like Mr. Obama does: come at them from all sides by all kinds of different entities. You will notice that has been effective for Mr. Obama and the liberals, because then they can say, "Look, its not just us, the ACLU just made a statement that blah blah blah'd." The liberals have perfected making it look as if soooo many others are siding with them, when that is not the case. The GOP must now immediately without further ado, ramp it up big time! Bring out the artillery to the front lines, man the fox holes and get ready to fire back with force. They must be louder, stronger, smarter, than the dems. Which shouldn't be hard. The GOP fell down last election because they got complacent. Legislators like Benedict Spector didn't help and Arnold the TurnCoat Terminator hasn't helped either. Being afraid of our shadows won't help either. I am pleased Limbaugh is rising to the occasion; I don't see anyone else doing that other than Ann Coulter and Fox News, Hannity! Thank you to/for these people. For the good of our Nation, this nutcase Sotomayor whose views and decisions are off the map, must be challenged. Bring back the U.S. Constitution!

|Seems like we are on the same tank, with minor variations.
The GOP is not "letting Rush", Rush is leading the charge - it has been a while since the GOP as a brand, has led on anything, but you do bring up an excellent point about a guerrilla-type of surrogates- the money is simply not there to compete with ACORN, UAW, or Labor in general.
However, there is simply no need to attack Judge Sotomayor, as much as it is to make sure the GOP reads the body of work. The GOP can read, right?.
