Mistake is see-no-jihad, hear-no-jihad, speak-no-jihad mind-set

By Jack Tymann | 11/19/09

A homegrown U.S. soldier-jihadist, having never served overseas, slaughters unarmed members of the U.S. military on American soil, and his act is foolishly excused by some as “secondary post-traumatic stress disorder.” Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp detainees responsible for 9/11 are being moved to New York for trial. As U.S. soldiers risk their lives in Afghanistan, our leaders struggle with the political consequences of their... read more »

“Misunderestimating” the threat of Islamism will destroy our free societies

By Jack Tymann | 11/17/09

A homegrown US soldier-jihadist, having never served overseas, slaughters unarmed US military on American soil, and his act is moronically excused in the media as “secondary post-traumatic stress disorder”. Foreign jihadists, responsible for the slaughter of 3000 Americans, are presumed to have US Constitutional rights and are being moved from GITMO to New York for trial. As our soldiers risk their lives (some dying) every day in... read more »

Global warming or not, we need a national energy plan

By Jack Tymann | 10/08/09

The debate about global warming will no doubt continue well into the future. That said, I thought I'd share with you the thoughts of Ross McKitrick  a voice of the "opposition".  Before reading on, and regardless of whatever is in fact global warming "truth", increasing energy demands and declining energy resources worldwide, along with economic and national security issues, demand that we move to... read more »

The great silent majority is silent no more

By Jack Tymann | 09/13/09

Here are some personal observations from my wife and myself, borrowing some thoughts and using some pics published elsewhere by A J Strata and others. We arrived in downtown Washington DC to join the "mob" ~10:45AM. We left uplifted and inspired as the event was concluded ~ 4PM. The entire day was peaceful, from start to finish. Ominous clouds filled the skies and cooled the air, but we were blessed that not a drop of rain... read more »

What will they do with senior citizen clunkers?

By Jack Tymann | 09/08/09

The average clunker turned in for destruction on the “Cash for Clunkers” Program averaged 15 mpg and traveled 12,000 miles per year. Thus each of these clunkers used ~ 800 gallons of gasoline annually.  The new vehicles purchased under the program average 25 mpg. If we assume the same 12,000 miles per year, each of the new cars will use 480 gallons a year.  So, the average "Cash for... read more »

Responding to Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL)

By Jack Tymann | 08/12/09

A good friend sent me this letter he received from Senator Bill Nelson and his reply back to Senator Nelson. Dear Mr. XXXXX: Thank you for contacting me regarding the health care reform process. Anyone who has battled a major illness knows the system is broken, and we can no longer wait to fix it. The Federal government currently spends over $733 billion annually on health care and the costs are rising at twice the rate of inflation. If we... read more »

The Truth About the Healthcare Plan

By Jack Tymann | 08/11/09

President Obama today gave some incorrect and/or misleading answers to questions at his Town Hall meeting. Below are specifics writen by a valued and trusted friend: There are  many important issues that need to be addressed (in the currently proposed Health Care legislation).   It is a fact that Obama's healthcare plan will, in fact, eliminate (ultimately) private sector coverage (because no private insy=urance can... read more »

Examine the root causes

By Jack Tymann | 08/02/09

Column by Jack Tymann and Mike Master Every good company in America practices a technique in problem solving referred to as the "Quality Improvement Process" or QIP. That process requires that the first step in solving any problem is to determine the root causes of the problem - - and then doing what is necessary to stop the short-term bleeding; while addressing and taking steps to deal with the root causes for a long term... read more »

Obama Goes Easy on Shoe Bomber

By Jack Tymann | 07/31/09

Have you and your family members ever had to remove your shoes to get through airport security checkpoints? The guy who gave us this costly gift is named Richard Reid, aka the "Shoe Bomber". In prison, Reid went on a hunger strike claiming his First Amendment rights were being violated in prison. The result?  Reid won his appeal - the Justice Department has now removed restrictions so he can now participate in group prayer... read more »

Cap and Trade: Ravaging America's competitiveness

By Jack Tymann | 07/22/09

India, Russia, China, Pakistan, and Brazil have all rejected any controls on carbon emissions.  It's almost certain that other nations will follow suit. Therefore the proposed Cap and Trade plan, if signed into law, would place the USA at an incredibly serious competitive disadvantage in the world markets. Beyond this, the increases in carbon taxes at home would be indirectly passed on to every American in the form of higher... read more »
