What will they do with senior citizen clunkers?

The average clunker turned in for destruction on the “Cash for Clunkers” Program averaged 15 mpg and traveled 12,000 miles per year. Thus each of these clunkers used ~ 800 gallons of gasoline annually.  The new vehicles purchased under the program average 25 mpg.
