Greatest Generation is Fighting Again!
By Donna Cahill | 08/19/09 | 12:10 PM EDT | 5 Comments
Sixty five years ago, America's Greatest Generation were responsible for ending World War II. They fought overseas and at home to ensure that Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness were available for all future generations.
Today - at congressional townhalls, on talk radio, at AARP meetings, on the Internet and in their neighborhoods - the men and women of the Greatest Generation are fighting again for America's freedom. This time the war is against a giant, intrusive national government that will control where you work, how much you earn and possibly, when you die. This war is not taking place on the battlefield, instead it is being waged by arrogant Democrat politicians behind closed committee room doors in Congress.
President Obama promised a new era of government that would be post partisan, fiscally responsible and transparent. It has been anything but. With record spending, massive deficits, record unemployment, billions in corporate bailouts and a White House "snitch" line - a national takeover of the U. S. healthcare system was too much for the public to take. Americans have had enough. The protests that are occurring across the country are genuine and our dear senior citizens are leading the charge to stop this government takover.
In response to this nationwide cry for help, the Obama administration, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the Democrat leadership insult these citizen protesters by ignoring, smearing and calling them "un-American." Members of the Greatest Generation have seen oppressive governments and they are not going to let that happen in the United States while they are still alive. They are showing up at townhall meetings in wheelchairs, with walkers and canes - nothing will stop them. .

|There have been many Seniors at Obamas's rallies, however I have faith that the overall majority are 'true' Americans that will oppose and help defeat the 'creeping' socialism that persons such as Pelosi, Reid, Frank, and the rest of that ilk are propagating.

|Wonderful to see those with so much to lose if Obamacare passes showing up at the townhalls. They truly are the greatest generation.
