Ray Grangoff got the endorsement of the Republican Party of Orange County on Monday night.  He is running for the somewhat obscure position of CA GOP Associate Rep.  The election will take place at the California Republican Party Convention in September.

In addition to representing the associate members of the CA GOP the Associate Rep. has a seat on the Board of Directors of the CA GOP.

Grangoff works for Orange County Supervisor (former Assemblywoman) Pat Bates.

The release from the Grangoff campaign:

Republican Leaders and past Associate Reps. Endorse Grangoff

Congressman Ed Royce, Senator Tony Strickland, Senator Mimi Walters, and Assemblymen Jeff Miller and Joel Anderson.  In addition, five past Associate Representatives, including incumbent Eric Linder, have all endorsed Grangoff.

“I’m honored to have the support of so many Republican leaders,” Grangoff said. “I am running for Associate Representative because I want to take part in leading the effort to grow our grassroots and prepare for the 2010 and 2012 elections.”

The Associate Representative plays an important role in communicating with our party’s grassroots and emerging generation of leaders.

Ray currently serves as policy advisor to former Assemblywoman and current Orange County Board of Supervisors Chair Patricia C. Bates.  Prior to joining the Supervisor’s staff, Ray was Director of Public Affairs for the Apartment Association of Orange County.  Ray previously worked on the Education & the Workforce Committee’s staff under the chairmanships of the Hon. John Boehner (R-OH) and the Hon. Buck McKeon (R-CA).  Additionally, Ray was elected to the San Lorenzo Unified School District Board of Education where he served for four years.

Ray is a very active volunteer for the Republican Party.  In fact, he was recently recognized as the Republican Party of Orange County’s “Volunteer of the Month.”  He regularly registers voters, speaks to high school and college groups, walks precincts, and donates his time at his county’s Party Headquarters when needed.  Ray serves on the Orange County Young Republicans’ Board of Directors as Volunteer Chair.  In 2008 Ray had the honor of serving as a delegate to the Republican National Convention.

A native Californian, Ray grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and now resides in Orange County.  He earned a BA from California State University, Hayward and an MA from The George Washington University.
