Governor Mike Huckabee, former Candidate for President and Chairman of the Vertical Politics Institute will hold a fundraising event Thursday, June 11^th at the Charlotte City Club (121 West Trade Street, Suite 3100, Charlotte, N.C.)  The VIP reception begins at 11:30 AM (Cost $500 per person with a photo opportunity). HUCK PAC will hold a fundraiser/roundtable discussion in the Tryon Room at 12:15 PM. (Cost: $250 per person or $500 per couple)

Governor Huckabee was a breath of fresh air throughout the 2008 Republican Primary season. The governor remains popular in both Carolinas and should be a strong candidate for President in 2012. Personally, the following quote from the New York Times is one of my favorite from the Governor.

“Families are the backbone of our society, not the government,” Mr. Huckabee said. “In fact, as I often remind people, long before God ever created a government structure, the basic structure was the family. Mothers and fathers raised their kids to train replacements. And that’s what we’re about. If we don’t have strong families, it’s hard to have a strong country. And that’s why you’ll never hear some YouTube moment from me from generations ago saying something different about the family and about marriage than I would say today.” Link
