Snopes.com is an online mythbuster. They get rumors or stories emailed to them, they investigate and post the findings. It doesn't take much when quotes are attributed to someone, etc. for them to check that and post whether or not that information is legit. They do it for everyone... GWB, Sarah Palin, Obama... everyone! They are not a left or right-wing site. There's more than just politics on the page as well. But maybe it's easier for you to just totally dismiss evidence that doesn't back up your preconstructed version of "reality" that Fox News has fed to you!

Other than paintball guns or flare guns, do they make guns that have a purpose other than critically injuring or killing something/someone? I didn't think they did. Rocks weren't designed, manufactured and sold to injure/kill other people. So you can use a rock to kill someone, sure, but that wasn't the root intent of that rock existing in the first place, was it? I am not for *banning* guns, but I am for extremely strict gun control. Ahh, I see... so if a couple cannot conceive children, then they cannot truly be married, because they aren't procreating. Same for a couple who just chooses to not have kids. They cannot call their relationship a "marriage", or do they not have that option since they're not seeking out that "most precious gift"? They're just sinners who like to screw for pleasure! How does an unmarried woman in her late 30s have a baby? How does a couple who cannot have children have a baby? They get artificially inseminated. It happens all the time. Guess what else? Women and men raise kids on their own ALL THE TIME. And the kids turn out fine, believe it or not (I know already that you cannot and will not believe that's a possibility)! My neighbor and his same-sex partner have a son together through a donor female. Guess what?? The biological mother, while having no legal guardianship over the child at all, is STILL in the kid's life! He's a teen now, he knows how to fish and play football, and he's STRAIGHT! I know, I know, it's a total shocker!!
Let me ask you something... if a woman is pregnant and her husband is at war and is killed, should the child be taken away from the mother after birth? I mean, there's no longer a FATHER around to take care of the kid or teach the kid any of those ever-important things like football or hunting. You said it yourself that "It is not right to deny a child of his father and mother." Isn't it cruel to make the child grow up in a home with no father, just a mother to raise him/her? That seems SO unfair, doesn't it? I think we need to:
1. Removed kids from divorced couples/broken homes or widows/widowers.
2. Make abortion mandatory for unwed mothers.
3. Ban divorce.
It's really the only safe way to ensure that kids grow up with a mother AND a father present to raise them properly. I can tell by your previous posts and viewpoints that you'll no doubt agree.

Anyway, believe it or not, on my lunch break today, I *was* in a park. I saw lots of families: men and women together, women and women together, men and men together, a woman and her baby walking together (no man in sight!!), etc. The American family is not simply a man, woman and kids anymore. Sorry to burst the carefully constructed bigot bubble you've built up for yourself. It's not 1950 anymore, it's almost 2010. Welcome to the 21st century.

I do hope those get sorted out for you sooner rather than later. Would you like to lose your freedom to voice your opinion or the ability to protest perceived government intrusion against your basic human rights? This is part of the point that the author of this article was trying to make. Surely you must see that Barack Obama does not have yours or mine, or America's best interest at heart as he goes about his work as President, showboating before the camera's while making an embarrassment of himself as he bows to the King of Saudi Arabia and Head's of State in the East Asia. Yes, these things are minor when you consider about what he intends to do by socializing health care. And bankrupting our country with his plundering of the treasury so that he can continue wasteful spending on unnecessary projects, although clear at this point in time the country's economy can't handle increased debt. Just stop and think for a minute what is taking place right now in our country. When is the last time the United States Government owned private business and used taxpayer funds to help with the "clunker" car program? These are the intrusions I speak of, and you haven't seen nothing yet. This is the kind of government that is presently changing the face of Venezuela, once a proud Democracy, and now simply controlled by the whim of a crazed Chavez as he took control over private enterprise and ordered the shutdown of TV stations and radio stations that limit public information and insurgency of the people to rise up against the Chavez government. Guess what, America is right behind him. Also, whether you want to admit it or not, Obama has sold the liberals a bill of goods. You won't get the things he promised you; only the things that a Marxist would allow you to have as now you are the property of the Government, and what's good for one is good for all. Strip away capitalism and steal money from Americans who had the good sense and good fortune to reach their goals in life, and redistribute the wealth won't make our life any better. I suggest you read your history. Lastly, this nation is in for a fight of her survival. We are at war against Islamic jihad fundamentalist and they are out to cause everyone of us great harm as it's their ideology to dominate and rule the world. Think not? Open up your eyes and read. They are registered democrats and they do NOTHING except run their searches through lexis/nexis and then make a PERSONAL judgement on what they THINK is truth or not. They have no more validity then you do. The items you tried to debunk are all real. Two in particular, the one with Obama NOT wearing a flag pin and the one where he is standing with his hands over his crotch while the others saluted or flag were SEEN by me personally. The one about William Ayers is also true since Ayers started Obama's political life in his own apartment with Obama. Ayers admits to this himself. Every item on the list us in fact valid, Snopes not withstanding.

And let's have the link to Ayers admitting the things you say he's admitted, too. Please. I'd LOVE to read a transcript or see a video interview of him confirming this alleged close friendship.

Who cares who the people who run Snopes.com are? If it was a strictly political site, maybe I'd be curious which party they were members of, but it's not. They have information from everything from grisly crimes to food-related urban legends to sports stories to email scams. They debunk not only stuff about Barack Obama, but also Sarah Palin and George W. Bush. If they were really slanted to the left, why would they bother doing that? Why not just let the Palin/Bush-related rumors fester and gain momentum? Maybe it's because they're interested in the facts and the facts only? Maybe they want to clear up false information that tends to spread like wildfire (and be picked up and run with by people like yourself)?

It saddens me to think that people directed to this site may actually believe the blantant conservative propaganda herein. Some of the listings reference facts, but ALL are taken dangerously out of context to paint a clearly biased picture.
I think most people here would benefit by personally researching what socialism actually is, and how socialist governments are run. They are nothing like ours, and likely never will be.
I consider myself a conservative republican, but I have grown to despise what that term means. It means corrupt politicians. It means ignorance and hatred toward others. It means starting several oil wars, under the guise of justice, instead of developing energy technologies free of the ridiculously corrupt oil corporations. The United States has become a corporate oligarchy instead of a nation built upon the principles of its people.
It is sad to think that the United States that broke away from an oppressive tyrant has become one itself.
