Florida Senator Pepe LeMieux stinks it up

Several weeks back at the Republican Party of Florida Quarterly meeting in Orlando, I told Senator George LeMieux, then a mere candidate on the Governor’s short list, that I would support him just as long as he did not support any of President Obama’s Socialist policies. Believe it or not, I meant it.

As most of the country knows by now, this past Wednesday night, South Carolina congressman Joe Wilson verbally expressed his dissatisfaction of the proposed Universal Healthcare agenda during the President’s television sales pitch. With his outburst, Congressman Wilson expressed the sentiment that  millions of Americans share. I praise and respect him for having the rancor to express himself openly against such a despicable attempt of shoving the proposed healthcare bill down our throats. What is very disturbing is that many ‘establishment’ type Republicans were not supportive of Congressman Wilson, yet they did criticize him and demanded he apologize to the President. I wonder if these are the same Republicans that courageously denounced the Democrats booing of President George W. Bush at his 2005 State of the Union address?

Where was the outcry then?

Senator LeMieux was also quick to comment about what Wilson’s said by stating that his actions were “embarrassing and shameful”. Come on Pep, you seem like a nice guy, what is up with that? Shouldn’t you have at least waited a few days before ticking off your Republican base? Senator what is truly embarrassing and shameful is the fact that your close friend, Governor Charlie Crist appointed you over several more experienced and qualified candidates. Your appointment stinks of cronyism.

This being said, we do need to be fair and take a wait and see attitude with Senator LeMieux. While assuming his official Senatorial position of ‘place-holder’, I have serious reservations about how the Senator will vote on the pressing issues that will impact the nation. Senator LeMieux has stated that he is a,” Charlie Crist Republican”. This obviously means that the Senator agrees with Governor Crist’s policies, endorsements and appointments.

Shall we list a few of them? We shall.

-appointed Liberal FL Supreme Court Judge James Perry (endorsed by Planned Parenthood, while being opposed by the NRA)

-supports Amnesty for Illegal immigrants. “I like Sen. Martinez’ and Sen. McCain’s approach.”

-supports some form of a ‘Green’ bill.

-is against off-shore drilling.

-raised Cigarette Taxes by as much as $1 a pack.

-supported and campaigned for the Obama ‘Porkulus Package’

Senator LeMieux is also considering the Presidents Healthcare plan? There is nothing to consider here. Public option or not, the President’s plan is nothing more than Government controlled healthcare.

Republicans across the country are campaigning to oust and block any and all reckless and fiscally irresponsible Obama-lite Republicans that are currently in office, or considering a run for office.

The decision for Republicans in Florida to pick a new ‘Conservative’ Senator in next year’s mid-term election is turning out to be a very clear and obvious one-Yes,He can!

It is Time for Gov Crist to Take Detailed Positions as Governor

I am meeting with Governor Crist tonight at a private home with others. I am asking him "once again" to publically condemn the massive Obama National Debt, state that Socialism-Marxism is Anti-American, address that the Gov must follow the Constitution & protect our Free American Capitalist Republic, provide  a detailed energy plan, That Social Security & Medicare are FACTUALLY bankrupt today as we print money just to make the current payments & how to re-organize these programs. We need a strong State immigration & workers enforcement plan. ALL of our leaders need to speak out in detail about this now, not maybe later based on the election polls. He needs to debate Marco Rubio this fall, not next July based on "polls". As a supporter for Charlie, I am becoming frustrated that these problems are being ignored and told that these are non-issues for our Governor to speak out about in detail and told "No". I am voicing your grass roots concerns. Comments?

Michael, Goodluck in trying

Michael, Goodluck in trying to convince him to condemn the stimulus-it is not going to happen. I agree with you, the Governor should debate Rubio this fall. You should do your civil duty and ask the Governor to accept Rubio's request for a debate(s). Again, goodluck tonight. If you would be so kind as to give me an update tomorrow, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

How Did Your Private Meeting Go w/ Crist?

Dear Michael,

I am interested in knowing how your private meeting with Governor Crist went? Seems to me that he is not changing his tune, that he is a part of the problem with the Republican Party and that he will do anything to get elected to the next highest seat, including appointing another RHINO as a placeholder to his 'rightful' seat (as far as he sees it). I would be very interested to see him change his tune at this late date - and I wouldn't trust him even if he did.

While Rubio is far from perfect, I would prefer him to Crist any day as Senator. He at least finishes his office before aspiring to the next one, something Crist has never once done!

While I respect your right to vote for whom you feel will best serve the interests of the people, I am not sure how much longer this country can survive under the pandering cronyism, the socialist agenda and more of same old, same old. Florida has suffered severely under Crist, under Martinez and Nelson and many poorly elected Congressmen and women. We must stop taking the lazy way out of our electoral process and put in some plain old simple citizen legislators to help us win this ideological war of the minds. America is a great country, by allowing those who do nothing but pander for votes to continue in their pandering, we are at fault and deserve what we get, Cap and Trade, GovernmentCare, our loss of our personal businesses and Redistributive Taxation.

I hope and pray we can take this country back to its roots and away from the corruption that has become our government. I hope we each weigh carefully our choices and hold our soon to be elected legislators to a higher standard.

The "H" in RHINO

I've never seen Republican-In-Name-Only (RINO) abbreviated to include an "H" as the above person wrote.  Do we have another word or adjective we are now including?  I want to be up on the new acronyms!  Someone please tell me!

I applaud the congressman for

I applaud the congressman for speaking up and because of it this problem is now being addressed.  The President can say that the healthcare bill doesn't include illegal immigrants and abortion but both amendments to block this were voted down by the Democrats.  So while it is not spelled out implicitly in the bill it most certainly will be available since there is nothing to prevent it.  That's their way of getting it in the bill without spelling it out so the public doesn't know what their up to.  God Bless Congressman Wilson for having the cajones to speak up for we the people!  I for one applaud him for it and have made a campaign contribution to him, he's just the kind of representative we need to make sure stays in Washington.

PEPE WHO?

HERE IS HOW WE STAND RE:PEPE'S VIEWS:

WE'RE AGAINST A GOV. RUN HEALTHCARE, POKULUS PACKAGE,

ABORTION AND GAY MARRIAGE.

WE'RE FOR: OFF-SHORE DRILLING,

MORE TAXING OF CIGARRETES & ALCOHOL,

AMNESTY FOR ALIENS ALREADY HERE, WHILE PROTECTING BORDERS

TO AVOID MORE ILLEGAL INFLUX.

AS CHRISTIANS & CONSERVATIVES, WE BELIEVE THAT VICES THAT ARE

DETRIMENTAL TO THE BODY LIKE CIGARRETES & ALCOHOL SHOULD

BE HEAVELY TAXED TO DISCOURAGE USE. WE BELIEVE IN HAVING MERCY

AND COMPASSION FOR HARD WORKING ILLEGAL INMIGRANTS IF

THEY'RE HERE ALREADY, WHILE PREVENTING MORE INFLUX.

FOR US IS MORE ABOUT JESUS THAN POLITICS.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK FOR GOD &COUNTRY

You believe in Higher taxes?

Who supports higher taxes for items that are detrimental to the body?  If so, then you believe raising taxes on soft drinks, coffee, tea (all contain caffeine), candy, pizza, fast food as well as taxes on alcohol and cigarettes.  Conservatives are for less taxes.  Period.

we have bigger fish to fry than Joe Wilson

<!--Session data-->

“embarrassing and shameful” ? There have been worse outbursts and insults directed at President Bush during his Presidency. I understand the GOP wants to hold themselves up as being above all the name calling but what Wilson did was actually the correct response to an Administration that has not been very professional or civil itself. OK, two wrongs don't make a right, but the "base".. including Independents LIKE MYSELF do not feel the offense deserves such condemnation considering everything that is happening in the country.

You claim to be a,” Charlie Crist Republican”. This obviously means that you agree with Governor Crist’s policies, endorsements and appointments. That isn't very comforting to many of us. Maybe you should hold your outrage for the Democrates who's agenda is not what is good for our country. Maybe you should stand up more to the opposing party rather than drag yourself into the debate over what Wilson said.. We need leadership right now. We have more important fish to fry.... He actually said something many of us agree with. It may not have been appropriate and his timing and location was bad to make such a statement but please.... this is not the most important issue of the day.. We cannot afford to fall into self flagulation and GOP infighting at this point of time.. PLEASE??? Pretty please..????

we have bigger fish to fry than Joe Wilson

The outburst may have been done in the wrong place at the wrong time but that doesn't require such condemnation from others in the GOP. Two wrongs may not make a right but the Democrats are guilty of much worse. There are not only people in the GOP that agree with Wilson, Independents like myself also are glad someone stood up to Obama and called him out on the lies he has been telling. Maybe you should focus on the many problems we face as a nation and less on your fellow party members comments. We don't need to add to the feeding frenzy that is a distraction from doing what is right for the people of America. We have bigger fish to fry and we need to focus on the agenda of this Administration which is taking our country down a black hole of inefficiency, cronyism and political handouts. We need leadership and not the same old party politics, self flagellation and party infighting. We do not need Crist crony politics. We ask that you be your own man and fight for what is right for the nation and your state. We cannot allow the leftist Democrats define the debate, we need to defend the Constitution which is under attack right now and deny them their agenda for a progressive country. Claiming you are a,” Charlie Crist Republican” doesn't give me any comfort.

LeMeow is just another rino

Neither of these two clowns can be trusted.  Neither one can be sent to DC in 2010.  It would be like sending another Democrat to join the communist regime in Washington.  So, sit back and watch show.   Hoefully, LeMeow will really tick folks off when he begins to show his true colors.  Then Marco can step in!!

First off, Gov Crist appointed LeMeuix, and Gov Crist is a twin to McCain so...moderate at best.  They both support things like a LIB.  Everyone needs to look at RUBIO.  Seems to be sharp.

Mack no conservative

Javier - thanks for outing Connie Mack as a rino due to his support of Rubio over Crist.  If Connie Mack is a rino, perhaps we true conservatives need to bolt from this party and start talking up the Libertarian Party candidates.

Charlie Crist Lite

If Charlie Crist is viewed as "Republican-Lite" then LeMieux has already shown us that as a place-holder he is going to be a "Charlie Crist-Lite" during his tenure.

Just what we need, another RINO, who makes as one of his first public utterances as Senator a verbal slap at Representative Joe Wilson, a true patriot with the inner strength to call out the Liar-In-Chief at the propaganda laden lie fest, also known as the joint session of Congress.

We need more leaders like Representative Wilson, whom I support fully and who has received the first of several campaign contributions I will be sending him. It is absolutely imperative we support Joe Wilson, the only Republican with the courage to step forward and take a stand. Where are the rest? Where's the dimwitted John McCain, Mr Pukey Warm Pablum with no guts, who also criticized Representative Wilson? No wonder we got our butts handed to us last November.

I like Rubio on many issues, however, he really needs to tighten up his stance on illegal immigration if he really expects to receive Conservative support. How about it Marco? Will you take a hard-line position against the menace of illegal immigration? Or will you become another Republican-Lite?
