The Florida GOP Circus May Be Losing 'Bozo the Clown' to Congress

Once again, I find myself writing about the gift that keeps on giving. That gift is RPOF Chairman Jim Greer [pictured]. The news that Chairman Greer may run for Congress is laughable. Hey, let’s look at the bright side of this- if this fool runs for Congress, he will be out of the RPOF!! That means he won’t be able spend anymore party funds on himself.

Say goodbye to the jets, cigars, gift cards, spa treatments and everything else that he shoves down his throat. As I’ve mentioned before, Greer can read the writing on the wall.

This would obviously be good news to all of the other Republican candidates running in their respective races. Now those candidates have a better chance of receiving support from the state Republican Party.

Greer has proven to be a useless waste of political space. We all know of his lack of support for Republican candidates last year. Chairman Greer couldn’t even send a simple letter of support for anyone. He is simply useless. And now he has the audacity to ask us for our vote as he runs for Congress?

What will be interesting to see is if the RPOF spends money on his campaign. If the RPOF spends party funds on Greer’s campaign, then the RPOF should spend money on the other Republican Congressional candidates that are running statewide.

And who does he think he is, trying to intimidate potential Senatorial candidate, Marco Rubio? This is a sign of weakness for Heckle & Jekyll (that would be Crist and Greer).

Rubio hasn’t even announced his formal intentions and already they are trying to drive him off. Why? I’ll tell you why- they are scared of Marco Rubio.

And in a Political Connections interview airing on Bay News 9 today at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m., Greer warned Republican former House Speaker Marco Rubio of Miami that he would be misguided to challenge Gov. Charlie Crist in a Senate primary.

"I'd say (to Rubio) you've served Florida very well in the speakership in the Legislature, but I think we all know that Charlie Crist is a highly popular governor," said Greer, who owes his job to Crist. "Anyone thinking of challenging Charlie Crist for any public office, I would encourage them to look somewhere else." By Adam C. Smith, Times Political Editor in Print: Sunday, April 19, 2009

Here is our 'popular governor' just being himself, popular.

Hey Jimbo, what makes you think that Governor Crist in unbeatable? What makes you think, that you will get the support you need in your congressional race? That is of course, if you really have the stones to run for office.

Well rest assured that myself and many other Conservatives in the party will do everything within our power to help defeat your campaign.

Take heed and govern yourself accordingly.

Greer's remarks smack of

Greer's remarks smack of entitlement, and harken back to Chicago-machine style politics.  Who on earth is he to tell anyone that they should or shouldnt run for office?  If he was an honorable official within the Party, he would be welcoming any and all candidates to engage in the arena of ideas.  Instead, he tells potential candidates to "look elsewhere".  Greer has taken Party-Hackery to new heights- let's just see if winning a primary contest with Republican Primary voters will be as easy for his guy as he thinks- something tells me it wont be.

Both Jim Greer and Charlie

Both Jim Greer and Charlie Christ have lost there way. They have shown us by their actions and non-actions that they don't believe in the Conservative principals of the Republican Party. They have both turn Florida from a Red state to a Blue state. We Conservative Republican are going to show these two gentlemen the way and vote them out of office. We can not afford these two RINO's any longer. I believe that Charlie Christ will be crushed in a Republican primary. We Republicans know Christ if the best Democrat Governnor this state has had. As for Jim Greer running for Congress. I don't think his criminal record will allow that to happen. Republican's want him gone, think of the hay day the Dem's will have with him.

I salute Florida's conservative moevment and thier willingness to take out the trash. The Bible says to judge a tree by its fruit.  Well, Greer and this strange fruit could not deliver Florida to McCain, so I say move over skinny dog cause the fat dog is movin' in!

Taking sides with one

Taking sides with one Republican over another by a Republican organization or official has never led to anything good.

We have all known for years that both Crist and Greer regard RPOF as Crist's private PR agency if not bank. Greer's arrogant words prove it.

Jim Greer may be paving the way for his own run for Congress. It is rumored he wants to run against Suzanne Kosmas in District 24, which is on the east cast from Cape Canaveral to Daytona Beach and goes west  to near Orlando.

Rubio is a shameful liar.

This column keeps putting forth Marco Rubio as the "ideal" candidate for Senate.  Well, he isn't.  Anyone who is for illegal immigration is no conservative.  Rubio's shameful acts last year in blocking legislation controlling illegal immigration have eliminated him from my thinking, and I am sure there are plenty of real conservatives who don't want him either.

Of course, now he lies about it and says he's against illegal immigration.

In short, I would sit on my hands.  I would not vote for him.  To me he is disgusting.   If the Republicans really wanted to, they could find someone else -- someone who really is against illegal immigration.  They are stupid, though.  They do the same thing over and over.  Yes, this state's Republican Party is getting to be like the Chicago machine.  It will keep illegal immigration from ever being discussed until it turns our state into a third world cesspool.  That's what we'll get with Rubio.

Greer, Crist, and RINOs

What a travesty the RPOF has become.  Greer has run it poorly, Crist has been all about "Charlie" while helping his buddies like George LeMieux, Shane Strum, and a bunch of people who would sell out their first born to get themselves a political position.  Greer wants to run for Congress?  Great, he can join another one who doesn't belong there- Connie Mack- and take "middle of the road" stances on anything that might affect their further ambitions.  I've served, I understand compromise for the betterment of all, but if you can't stand by your principles and the principles of the people you are elected to represent, step aside and go earn a real living.

Tom Gallagher is not perfect, but I can assure you he would be doing a much better job in Tallahassee and not kissing up to Obama or trying to make the circuits in the New York Society scene.  He also has matured and become a very grounded family man. And with him, Greer never would have been RPOF Chair.  We need somone who has a clue and is still a true conservative.

The only good thing that

The only good thing that could come of Jim Greer running for Congress is that he would be gone from the RPOF Chairmanship.  Florida went from being a "swing state" that seemed to swing more red than blue, to being Obama's biggest cheerleader.  Greer's brand of self- aggrandizing pep rally Rah Rah faux Republicanism is in place to make Florida Republicans feel good about two things:
1) Charlie Crist.
2) Jim Greer.

As for Florida's upcoming, sure to be interesting, Senate race, Greer has been artificially inflating Crist's numbers with "internal polls" for a few weeks now.  How DARE he try and intimidate any qualified Republican candidate out of running for office?  Your job, at most, Mr. Greer, is to encourage clean, healthy debate among all Republicans.

I'll admit to being a fan of Marco Rubio.  He is a young, energetic, conservative Republican.  During his tenure as Speaker, he showed his willingnes to listen to the people, and  proved that he puts the needs of Florida first.  Something about Rubio, and his appeal, has Greer scared enough to air out squabbles during TV interviews.  That's bad form and out of turn for a state party chairman.

I'm glad to see that Rubio had decided to make his decision to run for higher office independent of what the Governor does.  We need people like him in Washington DC.

Let's vote Rubio in and work to get the Greer/Crist lovefest out.

Spectacle, you are pathetic!

Spectacle,

you are pathetic! Get of of your one trick pony issue. This column is not a bout Marco Rubio. Greer brought up Rubio, not the columnist.  You sound so ingnorant when you continue to call him a liar.

You need new material for your standup. This is about Chairman Greer and what he is trying to do to our party.  Greer could have mentioned anyone. He just happened to mention Rubio because he feels he is the biggest threat.

Crist = Rubio = Greer

Notice how Greer says that Rubio has served Florida well in the Speakership.  Well, that shows they are of the same colors.

Rubio blocked legislation that would have controlled illegal immigration.  Right up Crist's alley.  All of you on this board who are blowing Rubio's horn:  He is an exact copy of Martinez, the guy he wants to replace -- the guy every conservative in Florida wanted to get rid of.  Is this what you want?

Just because Crist is abominable does not mean you should like JUST ANYONE who is opposing him.  And believe me, Rubio, is JUST ANYONE.!  Or a REAL NOTHING is more like it.  You are living in a fairy tale world if you think he'd be any different than his fellow RINOS.

Spectacle,

list some facts as to why you believe Rubio is a RINO.

Can you? I'll give  you the immigration issue.even though you can't substantiate the accusation of him being pro-amnesty.

So give me a list of things that make him a RINO? I bet you can't.

You cannot compare him with what Crist has done, and is doing. Until you can prove your allegations, your words are worthless.

greer and crist

This crist and greer fellow are using their position to rattle the sheets for these upcoming elections.  Being from the south you shake the sheets when your nervous.  crist I think in his rhino mind believes he got some kudos with other rhinos in the state as there are truly others.  Crist will probably win as he can get his hands on Democrat campaign monies through subverted cloaked proxy organizations.  These are orgs cloaked and are the partial reason the wolf in sheep clothing McCain won the primary.  That and the crossover voter...The whole lot is perverted with arrogant power and they are surely nervous about the environment right now of the voter block.  I bet crist and greer want the government to succeed regardless of  that governments principles.  They have their power.  One simple solution for all "term limits"

Greer, Crist & Rubio

All three should not hold office!

Crist is being investigated by the Federal Elections Commission for all the illegal campaign donations that he received from Jordanian nationals. Remember the meeting and handshake with King Abdullah (as his buddies Robert Wexler and Harry Sargeant looked on)? King Abdullah is the guy that Crist stated he didn't remember meeting! Wexler and Sargeant are both under Federal investigation as well!

Jim Greer is being investigated by the Feds, IRS for funny money handling at the RPOF. He wasn't even a registered Republican when he was 'appointed or annointed' as RPOF chair by Crist.

Rubio is nothing more than a pretty boy who continues to deflect the illegal immigration issue on everyone but himself, and I quote "as speaker of the house I had to prioritize". This was his response as to why the six immigration bills never made it to floor in the Florida House.

Prioritize? Hey Rubio, Florida spends $3.8 BILLION a year on just education, health care and incarceration for illegals. In 2005 the amount was $1.7 billion. So, during your tenure there was a $2.1 billion INCREASE! THIS WAS NOT A PRIORITY TO YOU? I THINK THE FLORIDA TAXPAYERS MAY DISAGREE!

Check out the stats on illegals at the Federation of American Immigration Reform: www.fairus.org. Also check out Floridians for Immigration Enforcement www.flimen.org.

Lets send Crist, Greer and Rubio on a one-way cruise...to Cuba or Venezuela, and while we are at it, lets put Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Geithner, Emmanuel and all the Democrats & RINOs are that cruise too!

Republican Party scare tactics

I cannot believe the audacity of the State and County Republican parties trying to manipulate who runs in these races.  I thought "We the People" decide who our candidates will be.  These winks, nods and softly advising people not to run have to be a thing of the past.  Leon County is an embarrassment to this party because our Executive leaders don't lead and do not speak out against the slim pit that Jim Greer has been allowed to create at the state office in this county.  Republicans should know that this week the leaders are meeting to decide which candidates they will be stuffing down our throats and which races they are concerned with.  Well you know, I am concerned about all of them but especially about the races for our United States Congress.

We are led by cowards and until they can show some courage, no one is going to contribute to this party.  Rubio would be great to run for the Senate.  The people will no longer be in lock step with the Republican Party.  We are free thinkers and free givers from our wallets.

Bone Heads

Thank you, thank you, thank you Florida.

For so long California has been know as the land of Fruits and nuts, so lo and

behold you give us Jim Greer and others of his ilk.  The stigma has transferred

to you Florida.  Hey Jim, you idiots should join Texas and leave the union,

then only let your citizens breed with each other.  I know it doesn'rt seem possible

but the resulting inbreed idiocy of that population would have to have higher

IQs than you morons.

Keep up the good work,

Richard Hart
