El Monte City Manager Resigns after arrest

Today, El Monte City Manager Jim Mussenden resigns after a police prostitution sting in Pomona on Thursday night.
Yesterday, the Los Angeles Times broke the story.
The El Monte City Council held an emergency meeting this afternoon to consider his dismissal according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
The news was so swift in the past 48 hours has now raised numerous of questions in the community relative to budget challenges, staff layoffs, and the controversial Transit Village.
There is an election for two council seats slated for the coming Municipal elections in a few weeks on November 3rd, which means a possible increase in voter turnout surrounding the latest news on the city manager.
It is with hope that the City of El Monte 122,000 residents will move forward.
The only one question remains is this: Does Mr. Mussenden waives his severance package?
