The Danger of Cutting & Pasting from MS Word

To show you an example of what kind of malicious code actually gets pasted into the text box when you copy & paste from anything other than Notepad, please take a look at what your post looked like to our system (see below). It is very important for your editorial contributors to follow the posting guidelines outlined in your introductory email.

Here is what a simple post looks like when it is cut & pasted from MS Word...

McCain/Palin Is The Opposite of Obama/Biden & Bush/Cheney

Obama campaign (followed by their minions in the mainstream media) are
criticizing Sarah Palin of being too inexperienced to be "a heartbeat away
from the Presidency". This is obviously a play on the Republican's
criticism that Obama himself has little qualification to be President.<br />
<br />
But I have come to the conclusion that McCain/Palin represents the opposite of
Obama/Biden. If you are going to have a candidate that is weak on experience,
it makes sense for that candidate to be on the bottom of the ticket. Whereas
the Democrats have nominated what is essentially the very ticket they hate the
most; modeled after the Bush/Cheney ticket. Bush was the less experienced
candidate and the thought was that Dick Cheney would offer the experience that
Bush didn't have. How funny is that?<br />
<br />
My conclusion here is that John McCain is one sneaky guy. He has basically
created a ticket that will cause the Democrats to criticize (over and over) his
ticket for what they themselves are guilty of. Every time your average American
voter hears the Dems say that Palin is too inexperienced, they will quickly be
reminded by Republicans that is why she is on the ticket as the Vice President
rather than the President.<br />

Welcome to Red County. Below is some information about editorial contributor login. Please contact your local editor [NAME AND CONTACT INFO OF LOCAL EDITOR HERE] for basic posting procedures and tips.

Once you login, you will see a blue box on the right side of the Dashboard that will link you to your profile. Please login at your earliest convenience and check your profile for accuracy (password, e-mail address, etc.). Do not change your username. . If you would like to update your thumbnail image in your user profile, it MUST BE a 50x50 pixel JPG or GIF file. If you're not sure what this means, just email us any picture of yourself and we will make it work.

After you login, you will be on the Dashboard. You will see a tab on the top left of the screen that says, "System Overview". Click on it to see which blogs you are a member. Select a blog and start blogging.

IMPORTANT!!! Please do not cut & paste documents out of MS Word or WordPerfect. If you must cut & paste, do so out of Notepad. We prefer you just type in the text box and save any unfinished work as "Unpublished." Use SHIFT+ENTER twice at the end of paragraphs. This guarantees a "hard space" between each of your paragraphs and ensures maximum compatibility across different browsers and computers.

We prefer you not use images in your posts unless it absolutely adds to the dialogue.

We prefer you not post press releases unless you are going to add substantive analysis about why the press release is important or relevant.

Missing Right Column

Take a look at the attached image. This explains a common problem that we all need to be aware of. We are working on a solution. Unfortunately, Microsoft Internet Explorer is an inferior product that causes this problem, but it is still 69% of the market. The blogging software industry is working on a permanent solution. The easiest temporary fix is to cut & paste out of Notepad.
