Earth Calling The Buena Park City Council

The Buena Park City Council is actually trying to sell the voters on the idea that a S.C.A.M. (Single City All Mail) and other types of special elections will result in a higher than normal voter turnout.
Baloney!
Compared to the bi-annual General Elections, S.C.A.M. and other types of special elections have always resulted in fewer people voting.
The last two elections and the percentage of the total vote represented by permanent "vote by mail" ballots:
November, 2008 General election= 32.4 percent.
May, 2009 Special election= 18.6 percent.
Currently, 66 percent of Buena Park voters prefer voting at the polls. Why is the City Council forcing the vast majority of voters to change their voting preference?
Anyone need a bottle of snake oil?

Sounds a lot like another move that people wanting to stay in power use, gerrymandering. Not exactly the same, but nevertheless a politically motivated move. Is there anyone in Buena Park who gives a darn enough to stand with you and perhaps sign some petitions?
Good luck. Most people just want to have fun. We are the weird ones..the ones who go to marches and who are tired of government control inching its way into every crevice of our lives. Is there anything I can do to help?
Ladyfingers, It is too late for petitions. The ordinance has been passed. My supporters and I will continue to inform the Buena Park voters regarding the actions of the City Council. By the June 2010 Primary at the latest, I expect an attempt by the City Council to try and either remove or extend term limits. I will be on the November, 2010 ballot as a candidate for Buena Park City Council. Anyone who wants to help, can contact me through my website www.baronnight.com
