Duvall Scandal Fallout: It's A Small World After All
By Matthew Cunningham | 09/09/09 | 05:49 PM EDT | 3 Comments
In the Sacramento Bee story on Mike Duvall being stripped of his committee assignments -- published prior to the Assemblyman's resignation -- a good deal of space was devoted to quotes from Assemblyman Paul Krekorian, a Burbank Democrat who co-chairs the ethics committe.
I found this photo of Assemblyman Krekorian:

Who is that lovely young woman in the picture with Krekorian? It's Heidi Barsuglia, the utilities lobbyist whose escapades with Duvall were recounted over a hot microphone by now-resigned assemblyman -- precipitating the ethics investigation. (I found the photo on the Californians Against Wate website, although that page has since been suspended).
It's a small world after all.

Nice, maybe there is a Van Jones in everyone's closet... damn.
Excellent reporting Matt.
So, what does this photo have to do with Duvall's affair with an energy lobbyist while serving on a committee that oversees energy issues? ARe you suggesting having a photo taken with a lobbyist is somehow equivalent to Duvall's lapse?
