These days it's rather easy to feel like Will Rogers, who once said, "I don't make jokes.  I just watch the government, and report the facts."  Nearly every time the Dems in D.C. open their mouths, plenty of humor rolls out, even if it's unintended. 

Another wise observer, H.L. Mencken, once noted, "The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed, and thus clamorous to be led to safety, by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary."  Sounds pretty much what Obama and the Democratic Congress have been up to lately, doesn't it?

The liberals in Congress, along with their Old Media enablers, mislead Americans by asserting that they inherited an economic crisis from the prior administration.  To a degree, that's correct, but they forget to add a significant fact that the Dems have led Congress for over two years now.  Indeed, their reckless spending and stifling mandates did play a major role in triggering recessionary trends.  At least during Bush's tenure, most of the heavy spending was used to protect us from the enemies of civilization. 

It's quite amusing when Obama and the Dems claim that they're working hard and making tough decisions on gargantuan bailouts, budgets, recovery and reform plans.  Since when is it difficult to spend taxpayers money, or money that the Treasury doesn't have?  Since when is it tough to spend the people's money without their permission? 

Common sense informs most of us that tougher decisions and actions would translate into the Feds living within their means, and allowing failed companies to restructure, be split up, and/or bought out.  If the Dems were smart they'd let the free markets work through economic cycles.  But no, they'd rather bankrupt the country with socialist schemes that have been colossal failures for a century.

The hilarity continues with Senators John Kerry and Pat Leahy.  These two clowns want a truth commission to investigate the Bush administration's application of FISA laws, enhanced interrogation techniques, foreign renditions, secret prisons, as well as the treatment of enemy combatants at Gitmo.  Unsurprisingly, these Dems are interested in things that most folks could care less about.  Kerry and Leahy are more concerned about the rights of ruthless terrorists and tyrants, than they are with the civil rights, security, and stability of hundreds of millions of decent human beings around the globe.  The comedy of errors plays on.
