Crist picks Choo Choo Train conductor LeMieux to be new Senator

This afternoon at the Fort Lauderdale City Hall, Governor Charlie Crist held a press conference to announce his choice to be Florida’s next US Senator, his Former Chief of Staff, George LeMieux. In attendance were RNC Secretary Sharon Day, RPOF Chairman Jim Greer, Fmr. Broward GOP Chairman Ed Pozzuoli, current Broward GOP Chairman Chip LaMarca, as well as many of the who’s who in Broward politics.

The conference was your typical no-frills event, followed by a very quick question and answer session. At one point, Governor Charlie Crist shielded Senator LeMieux from answering a question directed at the Senator,by stating the he (Crist) would answer the question.

One question that I am sure will be asked of Senator George LeMieux is whether he thinks his involvement in the FEC Railroad negotiations, will be problematic? Senator LeMieux is documented to be on both sides of the negotiating table.

LeMieux’s  Law Firm’s website boasts that the FEC is one of its clients. The Department of Transportation (DOT) lists LeMieux as being one of the $500/hr Lawyers’s negotiating the contract on behalf of the state.

Crist Appoints LeMieux

ENOUGH!  Marco Rubio shall be our next US Senator, and I shall support him fully.  Please, Katherine Harris, help us give Marco ALL that he needs in encouragemant to succeed in 2010.  Lukewarm Conservative Republicans should be spewed from the support of Florida Families.  You shall be either Hot or Cold, but as you are Lukewarm Charlie, you're gone.

My God...

Rubio and Manjarres, why don't you just stick a fork in the Republican party and scream "WE'RE DONE!"

Your rhetoric makes me along with a lot of other people sick.

Patrick Castronovo made an ass of himself at the BREC meeting, I was supporting Rubio until I started seeing the crap that you guys are pulling.  I will SUPPORT CRIST ALL THE WAY TO D.C. NOW!!

Pathetic. The Crist's of the

Pathetic. The Crist's of the party are the ones that have 'done' us in. Just look at how unprincipled they have been. Let me not exclude Jim Greer,Arlen Specter, john McCain, Mel Martinez, the list goes on and on of the "moderates' that have ailed our party. At least Castronovo had the stones to stick up for what he believes, unlike you that can't even state who you are. Good luck.

I don't blame anonymous for not wanting to sign a name to that bovine scatology above.  If Crist is going to be the candidate, you CAN put a fork in RPOF. I have only ever voted for 1 democrat, in a local school board race, but if Marco Rubio is not on my ballot in Nov 2010, I will be voting for Meeks. Give me a liberal who is honest about who they are-not a RINO, ever again. Did we not learn our lesson with McCain, who is still making excuses for BO????  Do we really need a republican senator who hugged the marxist in chief at the Ft. Myers rally and gladly takes the bailout money, ROBBING the taxpayers???

Crist has not done anything he said he would do as governor, has he?, except maybe giving felons their voting rights back.   Property tax has not decreased, home-owners' insurance rates have not gone down. I think the US Senate is above his pay grade, at least until he cleans up the mess he has made in Florida.

Javier = Crist

Cindy - exactly about Crist hugging the Marxist in Chief in Fort Myers!  I saw Javier shaking hands with Bozo Greer today at that FTL press conference!   Now Javier is doing exactly what Crist is doing!   Amazing.  Javier has gone to the dark side.  So shameful to show common courtesy and respect to people.  What was wrong with you today, Javier?

funny. The only reason I

funny. The only reason I shook Bozo's hand was to get under his skin. The guy hates me to death!. He saw me coming and whispered over to his aid. " it's Javier." He had to shake my hand or look like a fool if he didn't. So, you are wrong with what you stated about me going to the darkside. You should have been there in Orlando when Greer went out of his way to avoid me. Did you notice how half the room was starring over at me? Probably wondering what I was going to say or do. hee hee

Javier=Rubio

Javier, thanks for clarifying!  For a second, I thought you were being cordial and trying to build bridges to get conservatives elected.  Thank goodness I was wrong.  You scared me, man!  I'm glad you are back to your old self.  Crist must go!  LeMieux must go!  All incumbent Republicans must go!

Great Choice Charlie!

Thank you Gov. Crist for making the most logical choice. Sen. Lemiuex is perfect to fill the vacate Republican Senate seat from Florida. He does share the idealogy and values that the Governor has...who won statewide as a Republican. To those of you who disagree, than you can vote in the primary for Mr Rubio or anyone else. Now...as Republicans we still have a voice to stop the liberal madness happening in DC. "We shouldn't eat our own"...who said that?...I don't remember..Reagan maybe? George...to you and your family...Godspeed...wish you the best...100% confident you will represent me well! The fight is just starting......

The Wall Street Journal

The Wall Street Journal editorial, Crist Lite- -A case of Senate cronyism in Florida, said it best,

 “What that means on crucial legislation is anyone's guess, given Mr. Crist's protean politics. The governor has driven private property and casualty insurers out of the state by expanding a government-favored public option for hurricane insurance. He also made a show of endorsing President Obama's $800 billion "stimulus" earlier this year. With a health-care public option in the balance in coming weeks, no one seems to know how Mr. LeMieux might vote…”

We don’t have principled Repubs here, we have political opportunists –a consummate pol and a lawyer-lobbyist. Any move they make will be in their own self-interest I am sorry to say that that is my observation of these cronies. We can only hope that their self-interest aligns with the Constitution and the people at times.

Why am I not surprised

'Another lawyer/lobbyist under investigation for the Seminole issue.  That's just what we need...just when I thought it couldn't get worse than Martinez.  No wonder this country is such a mess....Term limits will at least stop the bleeding....
