One of OCBLog/Red County's longest-serving blogpen members, Jeffrey Solsby is now a Washington, D.C.-based public affairs professional who directs advocacy, media relations, marketing and communications campaigns.

Prior to his current work, he served as a managing director with Chlopak, Leonard, Schechter & Associates, an international public affairs firm providing strategic counsel in support of public policy, crisis communications, corporate communications and government relations efforts for trade associations, Fortune 100 companies and private corporations.

From 2002 through 2005, Mr. Solsby worked in Southern California. He spent nearly three years with Anaheim-based Curt Pringle & Associates, a prominent public affairs consulting firm.

Previously, Mr. Solsby was chief of staff for California Assemblyman Todd Spitzer (R-Orange) and earlier served as communications director for Spitzer during his service on the Orange County Board of Supervisors.

From 1997 through 2001, Solsby served on Capitol Hill as a senior staff member for two members of Congress, including former Rep. James Rogan (R-Glendale). Throughout Rep. Rogan's two terms in office, Solsby served as the congressman's spokesman including during the 1998-1999 impeachment proceedings involving former President Clinton where Rogan served as a House Impeachment Manager. Solsby also served as spokesman and field staff for Rogan's 1998 and 2000 re-election campaigns, the latter the most expensive House race in history generating international sattention and developing a donor list of some 45,000 supporters.

Prior to his work on Capitol Hill, Solsby was a press assistant with the Dole-Kemp 1996 presidential campaign and an intern in the press office of Assembly Speaker Curt Pringle.

Born in Pasadena, Solsby attended public schools in Newport Beach, Calif., and graduated from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana. He received his B.A. degree from California State University, Chico where he was an executive officer with Phi Delta Theta international fraternity and member of the national "CEDA" debate team.

He lives in Alexandria, Va., with his wife and two daughters.
