An AP/HT article today asks the question, “Tea party: Warming or resigned to Mitt Romney?” and states that Mitt is gaining TEA party votes but doesn’t bother to show the source of THAT info.
It goes on to mention all the “infighting” and “fracturing” and reports a TEA Party spokesperson as having “acknowledged lower expectations” and another who “wants to support the candidate he views as the likely nominee” and quotes him with ‘We’re warming up to Romney’”. (Who’s “we”, Kemosabe?) Yet another, a Paul supporter (watch out for all those crazy people!), is quoted, “I do not believe in this idea that you vote for the lesser of two evils. The lesser of two evils is still evil”. The whole article, if you must, is right here: http://htpolitics.com/2012/02/07/tea-party-warming-or-resigned-to-mitt-romney/#comment-11199
NEWS FLASH! The answer to the Headline question is, “Neither!”
The TEA party is not warming to Romney, nor is it (or, should I say, are we) resigned to him. Even in FL, with a majorly Romney-leaning voter demographic, a huge Romney media blitz and no campaign from Paul, 49% did NOT vote for Romney (http://results.enr.clarityelections.com/FL/Sarasota/37286/67716/en/summary.html). At the moment, the TEA vote is split among the other three. That state of affairs won’t last long.
A current (2/2-2/6) Reuters/Ipsos poll puts Romney in first with 29%, Paul in a single-digit second place at 21% with Gingrich and Santorum in close 3'rd and 4'th with 19% and 18%, respectively... Do the math… 58% don’t want Romney. (http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/02/07/us-usa-campaign-poll-idUSTRE81514720120207)
- The only GOP candidate that consistently defeats Obama in head-to-head polls is Ron Paul.
- The only GOP candidate that embraces all of the TEA tenets is Ron Paul.
- The only TWO candidates on all the ballots in all 50 states are Romney and Paul.
While I’m at it, agreed; the lesser of two evils IS still evil. However, not going to polls or voting for an obscure third-party candidate for that reason, last time around, only served to net us the FAR greater of the two evils. The vast majority of those GOP, Independent and NPA Conservatives and the Libertarians, who stayed home or decided to “make a statement” in 2008 due to the poor choices, have learned their lesson and WILL vote for the GOP candidate in the 2012 general. However, to vote for "the likely nominee" in the primary, simply to be on the side of some Party Golden Boy and media-predestined winner, is both foolhardy and cowardly.
Neither is descriptive of a TEA partying Conservative, much less a Ron Paul supporter.

Well said, as usually
Tad,
Thanks for putting the whole truth in nice concise format. The media is leading the American Public around by the snout. The article cited is a prime example. The media just decides a truth and prints it without any facts to back it up. The media reports the winner before the election and the sheeple just follow, lock step. Principals be damn. If we don't get away from the boob tube and start reading, beginning with good articles like this one, we will be done for, at best a third world nation. Unless, of course, our society is just plane afraid of self reliance and freedom and they actually understand what they are doing, possibly even a scarier thought.

Until people realize that our
Until people realize that our entire system has been co-opted by a criminal enterprise intent on destroying the United States of America and blending us into some new socialistic feudal system where by the criminal elite reign we will not be able to shake off these parasites.
Wake up America. The Constitution is the only protection you have. Go Ron Paul..
The Republican party is in
The Republican party is in for a convention like no other. Since Ronald Reagan the Republican party has put forth a slate of Presidents & Presidential nominees that will not fly again. Bush 41, Bush 43, Bob Dole, and John McCain have all been integral to helping us arrive at where we are today. True national disaster is on our doorstep. American has now reached a point of no return and only swift and decisive action will avert our country's moral and fiscal bankruptcy. Those folks that are living off big government's money now are almost 50% of the total population. Once that number is exceeded they can literally vote for socialism & their candidates from here forward on the road to oblivion.
Will America come to its knees before we right the ship? That's the real question. My belief is we will probably arrive there one way or another, in our personal lives soon. I do think that Dr. Paul is the answer to stopping the course America is on. If the public does elect him POTUS in 2012 it will only be the beginning of a tremendous public outcry as the noose tightens around our collective necks. President Paul will need to have far more supporters that actively support him with their time, money, & all the umph they can muster than those that answered President Kennedy's call to become Peace Corps volunteers.
