Red County

If you haven’t read Marc Caputo’s investigative piece on Rick Scott’s latest fraud lawsuit  -- you should.

Just weeks after Scott announced his bid for governor, his healthcare company Solantic, was secretly negotiating to settle a 2-year old lawsuit filed by Dr. P. Mark Glencross who claimed Scott’s company had broken Florida law by submitting false medical licensing information with the state.

"Glencross said he did not know that Solantic submitted paperwork to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration that appointed him to the post [as Medical Director] without his knowledge"

Here's the silver lining — one that attorney general, Bill McCollum and Kevin McCarthy, Florida Insurance Commissioner, should be looking into. If Scott's healthcare company used a phony medical license to obtain insurance and medicare reimbursements, not only was it fraud — in Florida, its a felony.

Scott's role in the case, along with his deposition, is hidden behind the cloak of non-disclosure agreements. Which lends me to wonder, on the eve of Scott's second — and maybe last primary debate — what else does Scott have hiding in his past that hasn’t come out yet.
