During Tuesday's State of the Union address, we heard more Marxist clap-trap from President Obama. When he says, "equality" or "fairness" or "fair share", he's not meaning it in the American way.  He's not talking about "equality under the law" or "land of opportunity" which are true, traditional American values.  His values and principles are not our values and principles.  They are the antithesis of liberty, freedom, free enterprise, constitutional law, and every traditional value and founding principle our country was founded and made great upon.  Obama's idea of "leveling the playing field" is exactly the kind of government intrusion and control that the Founding Fathers warned against:

"The utopian schemes of leveling and a community of goods, are as visionary and impractical as those which vest all property in the crown. These ideas are arbitrary, despotic, and, in our government unconstitutional." --  Samuel Adams

Obama's version of equality, fairness, and social justice is nothing more than taking money, by government extortion,  from those who lawfully earn it and giving it to those who don't.  He may wrap his Marxist, "Bourgeoisie v. Proletariat" rhetoric in emotionally softening terms like "fair share" or "fair shake", but his objectives can only be achieved through the tyranny of government intrusion, confiscation, and coercion.  Obama and Marx's fairness, equality, and social justice can only be obtained by a mammoth leviathan state that micromanages, taxes, and regulates every single area of our lives.  It will never, has never, and cannot be achieved in a free society.  You want government-mandated equality?  They tried that in the failed Soviet Union, resulting in the tragic death of tens of millions of innocent people.  North Korea and Cuba also strive to achieve Obama's elusive, naive, and utopian dream of equality of outcomes, rather than equality of opportunity.  How is it working in those egalitarian societies?

Yet, the American free-enterprise system, to the degree that it has been free, has produced the most opportunity and prosperity, for more people, than any system mankind has devised.  However, this same system, based on economic freedom and free markets, is the same one Obama, in channeling Hugo Chavez, says has never worked.  Forget the question about what country he was born in.  I want to know what planet he's from!

Obama can only sell his utopian schemes by fanning the flames of class warfare, class envy, and class hatred, pitting one American against the other because history has condemned them as not only unworkable, but assuredly resulting in poverty, starvation, and death.

Obama's attempt to redefine American values in his and Karl Marx's image is a violent and evil yet devious attack at the heart of America itself.  His values are not American values.  His principles are diametrically opposed to our time-tested founding principles.  He is at war with them and he must be defeated, his policies must reversed, and constitutionally limited government must be restored.
