In 2012 we have many in the GOP and the RNC fussing about moving up Presidential Primaries. Florida caused a panic to change several primary dates. The first caucus and first three primaries were in the records before New Hampshire usually occurs.
But this isn't essentially bad. It is good because it makes it possible to hold the nominating convention early, too. The city of Tampa might have to move up preparations, but it shortens the security window back from late August. A shorter time may lead to fewer threats from the various groups who want to mess with the Republicans.
The best reason for a sooner GOP Convention is more time for building support for a successful run at defeating Barack Hussein Obama. Romney and Gingrich have developed campaigns able to claw at each other, as have their Super PAC's. Santorum and Paul are able to campaign strongly and make the occasional claws out swipe. The earlier we get all Republicans focused on Obama and Biden behind our chosen candidates the better. When you have to work against the Fifth Column of Obama, the mass media, you cannot start soon enough. Besides, if Reince Priebus and the RNC have 500 pages of rebuttals, documented missteps and just plain dirt more time allows the GOP grassroots to use it to bring down the Democrat Demagogue. More time also allows a stronger effort to solidify the base AND attract like minded independents. And don't forget we also have to hold the House and wrest the Senate from the Democrats, who have not rolled over and died yet concerning Congress.
Let's get redistricting, primaries and the party convention done with a lot nearer to the Democrat Convention. Obama will have a smaller post-convention bump (if any) and we'll be on his removal sooner.

Get a Commanding Position Up on Dem Nat Convention
Apparently the Great Leader and Lady Michelle are going to be messing up Charlotte, NC a little earlier in August than the Republican Convention in Tampa. Moving the Republican Convention up to just before the Dem Convention will give our candidates a chance to fire away at Obama, Biden and Lady (Macbeth) Michelle during their dull, predictable Obama Worship Hour of Power.
