Congressman Vern Buchanan represents Florida's 13th Congressional District which includes Sarasota, Manatee, Hardy and DeSoto counties. He is a very hard working member of Congress who is constantly holding town hall meetings every weekend he is home in the district. He is a business owner and uses that and his constituents feedback from face to face town hall meetings to influence his votes.

I was watching the Bill O'Reilly show last night and he had Glenn Beck as his guest. Glenn said when he was doing a fundraiser in the mid-West he asked the people at the fundraiser to get involved in government and contact their representatives to stop this out of control federal government. Glenn said a man shouted out from the balcony "I have called my representative and he is not listening to me, what should I do?" We don't have this problem is Florida District 13 with Vern Buchanan.
