Votes in Stanislaus for Proposition 8

Prop 8 passed in Stanislaus County by 68.02% gaining a total of 103,353 votes--that's before the provisionals and overseas ballots are counted. To add some perspective to that number, McCain got 74,025 votes [48.49%] while Obama got 75,106 [49.19%]. The question I have is: who are those voters who voted for Obama and Prop. 8 and how do we get them to vote for our candidates? There is an obvious contradiction in their voting. Any suggestions?

Very good observation. This is a golden opportunity for us to recruit for the Republican Party.
Specifically, socially conservative Hispanic voters are ripe to register with a socially conservative Republican Party.
The California Republican Assembly needs to contact conservative Hispanic pastors and invite them to join. Let the voter re-registration begin!
Of course, the main obstacle is the Republican leadership which refuses to recognize the opportunity laid before them.
Our governor who is the top of the ticket is doing his best to discredit and shrink the GOP. The Republican Party will not grow by branding itself as "democrat light".
